Jap buffet~~ Smile Aug 29, 2011

Had Japanese buffet at Kiseki with friends after saw the good reviews at Openrice. Thought it would be approx $23 but it come out to be $32! Then only i realize it was eve PH on the day i visited. Anyway, I did enjoyed having my sumptuous buffet here, the ambience and service of the restaurant is also good.

First we had some starter. I just take a bit each to taste the food coz I scared that my stomach will be full before dessert! Salad is fresh, the potato salad a bit hard, all the cool dish are nice, and seafood is fresh.

We also took some fried rice and it tasted nice! The mini hotpot is okay with the veggies and assorted stuffs (pork/prawn) and sweet nice broth. The soup of the day is also not bad. Tempura is okay, I'd prefer more if they were hot served, a bit oily also.

Shared a bowl of ramen with friends coz I really cant take too much carbo when having buffet. The soup and ramen were great! Tasty and spongy! The tempura prawn was crispy and chewy, best dipped into the Japanese curry, to cover up the oiliness. The salmon is also very fresh. I like the small cute tofu, with some miso paste on top. The skewers were okay, but I'd prefer if they were hot served, not very nice coz they were cold.

Sashimi !! All are fresh and thick cut. Salmon (seasoned or not), tuna, abalone, octopus, etc.. I grabbed a lot X)

Assorted Sushi..

The best: Blue swimmer crab! The crab is so fresh and sweet, very tasty even only ate plainly. Best thing to eat here!

Dessert is also very nice, the tofu cheese cake is as recommended -- NICE! Others such as chocolate cake, yogurt, puddings, and gelato are great ! I always have another stomach for dessert (Y)

Nice buffet afterall (=

My friends and I went to Marche for a birthday celebration!
I always want to have a try on Marche coz I heard that the food is nice from my friends and from other reviews. Too many foods to be tried on, so we shared these among 4 of us.

Mushroom soup
The mushroom flavour is quite strong, there are some chunks of mushroom inside and the soup is creamy too.

Rosti!
I like the combination of sour cream with the potato strips. Nice!

Chicken crepe
The crepe is thin and flavourful with the sauce, the nicely seasoned chicken and crunchy veggies inside. Tasted better with the cream besides.

chicken mushroom pasta
The pasta is awesome!! I like the consistency and I just cant resists myself to finish all the creamy sauce.

The pizza is okay too. Toasted cheese on top added a very fragrant flavour and taste to the pizza.

We chose to go ala carte because I think it is more worth the money than the buffet. We can order red plates and even noodles, whereas buffet is mainly restricted to the basic sushi and those on the conveyor belt.

The colours of the plates are nice for photography and I like the idea of stacking the plates. It is a fun experience with your family and friends. I had fun eating and snappning photos as I like the presentation of the food as well.

My favourite is the chawamushi. I had 2 to 3 cups of them I remembered. It was served in a nice cup and it is always warm, never cold. Love the taste and the ingredients inside. They have a few flavours, but all of them are nice..

Their ambience was ok,not very noisy. Price is abit pricy. Ordered their signature hot plate. The steak is not overcooked ,Taste juicy. Their baked potato is the best. very soft & i like those small red tiny things on top <i don't know the name of that > Is very crunchy, abit salty but very delicious !!

The tomyam soup cost $4 for a small bowl and can be shared amoung 4 friends. Its spicy and theres alot of seafood inside the soup as well.

Next, I highly recommend the honey chicken, which I will surely order everytime I come. Its very sweet and tasty but the downside is it has alot of chicken skin too, not good for those who wants a slim waist line.

The cereal prawn is something I recommend as well, for $10, you get 5 decent size prawn which taste decent but the prawn is not the highlight of this dish. They make 1 of the best cereal for its price and I highly recommend this dish for those who love to eat the cereal on the prawn. The cereal serving is very generous as well.
