Cookie Crumble from Starbucks Smile Apr 29, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Coffee

Was chilling out with my friends and as they wish to have a drink, so we decided to drop by Starbucks at 313 Somerset.

My friends ordered hot chocolate, green tea mocha (I think), while I ordered Cookie Crumble. I dun usually go Starbucks, so Im not very familiar with their names. Ordered Cookie Crumble just bcos I saw it on Starbuck's board, and it looked super delicious. tongue

It was $6.90, and my friend told me it was 1-for-1 before 7pm. Oh well, we went at 9pm, so it wasnt applicable. mad Nevertheless, I was really happy with my purchase! smile

I could select whether I prefer whipping cream on top (though I said no), and there was Chocolate cookie crumbs on top of the beverage. It was heavenly, and taste really like cookies. It was like I was drinking cookies! smile It was really delicious and something I can't describe until you try it yourself! Chocolatey and makes you craving for more!

Overall, the best drink I had from Starbucks! Heard it's new, so hopefully they dun remove it from their menu. smile I'll certainly go back for more soon! lol

A Satisfying Dinner @ Wan Chai Smile Apr 29, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Café

Met up with my friends to catch a movie and before that, we went to Wan Chai Hong Kong Tea Room @ Lot 1 to have our dinner. I loved the Chicken leg baked rice from there, so I didnt waste time in ordering that for my meal.

The place requires patrons to tick their orders on a slip of paper and walk over to the cashier to place the order. Though they serve the food to the table. A nice touch to the rice was that a bowl of soup accompanied every main you order. The whole meal cost me $9.10, inclusive a GST of 60cents.

Chicken Leg Baked Rice
Portion was huge, I managed to eat only 3/4 of the whole plate before I gave up trying to stuff myself. The chicken leg was also big, and the skin was really nice and tasty. Flesh was tender, though it was pretty oily. There were carrots at the side, though I didnt touch them. The amount of cheese was just nice, but rice portion was too much for me. The sauce with the rice was too salty to my liking.

Soup
The soup smelt like some herbal concoction of some sort, but it was actually veggies (I presume it was seaweed) soup. There was a very strong taste of seaweed which I disliked, so I drank only 5 mouthfuls of it and as my friend said it was good for health, she drank finished my whole bowl of soup after that.

Overall, satisfying meal as portion is very worth the price; I was really full. smile

Nice Fish & Chips Smile Apr 17, 2012
Categories : Food Court | Steaks and Grills

I was feeling hungry and so decided to grab lunch here. I've not tried this stall before, but since I was craving fish & chips, I decided to settle my lunch here.

The serving was huge when I received it. There was garlic bread, 1 slice of fried fish, some baked beans, and a portion of salad. I didnt like the salad so passed it to my sister after I mouth. She ate all of it, saying it was really nice. shocked I guess different people have different tastes!

For the fish, it is really nice! The outside batter is super crispy, while soft on the inside. Really didnt expect to find such good fish & chips in a coffeeshop! Moreover, it was a big piece! lol

The baked beans were just straight from the cans, thus they werent hot/warm in any way. However, I still loved eating them (as I like baked beans all along). smile

Last but not least, the garlic bread. It was deep fried, and still warm when I ate it. It was hard, so I put some baked beans on top, which made it softer to bite into. smile

Overall, a great find in a coffeeshop, and I enjoyed my lunch tremendously! Will come again next time. smile

Tea break at Burger King OK Apr 17, 2012
Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal | Burgers and Sandwiches

Was getting some stuffs from Cineleisure and Scape, and after walking for some time, I felt hungry and tired, so decided to rest at Burger King for a while. There was alot of ppl there, but luckily I managed to find a table without having to wait long.

Decided to get some chicken tenders to munch on as I wasnt so hungry as to want to have a burger. It came with a sauce called Kung Pao, and I laughed when I saw it. The name was hilarious! However, as I wasnt the kind who is adventurous and like to try out new stuffs, I didnt touch that sauce at all. Thinking back, feel abit regretted as Im curious as to wat it taste like. mad Thus, had the chicken tenders on its own. They werent hot or warm either when I ate them, and not crunchy at all. Kind of disappointing, but maybe they were supposed to be like that since the name was chicken 'tenders'. The meat inside was soft though, but abit dry. There were about 6pieces inside, which made me really full after i finished them all!

Overall, ok taste but at least it managed to fill my stomach till dinnertime. smile

I was down with flu and cough so wasnt feeling very well, thus asked my friend to help me get lunch from Causeway Point before she comes over to my hse to see me. I haven tried the Salmon bowl from Yoshinoya before yet, and so decided to buy that for lunch.

When my friend arrived, she was carrying a huge plastic bag. I must say Im really surprised at the packaging. Not sure why, but it brightened up my day (mayb its becos the packaging was colourful). When I opened the takeaway box, I see a myriad of colours too! Carrots, long beans, cabbage, and finally the Salmon with breadcrumbs. smile Drink I ordered was ice lemon tea, which required an additional charge of 50cents on top of the usual set price.

The food was warm when I received it. smile

Salmon and Rice
The salmon was nice, coated with a layer of breadcrumbs and fried. Wasnt oily at all! A nice surprise. smile It was soft, easy to chew and swallow. Only thing is that there were too little pieces! sad Bcos of this reason, I usually eat the teriyaki chicken rice bowl, which has more chicken and thus more filling (in my opinion. smile Scrapped off the mayo on the salmon as I could not take mayo, but I dun really feel it makes any difference to how nice the salmon tasted. lol Rice portion wise is just nice for me too.

Veggies
There were carrots, cabbage and long beans, and they were really soft (just how I like my vegetables to be). They add flavour and colours to the whole meal. Only thing was that the given portion is too little for me. Maybe I shld request for more next time. smile

Overall, quite a satisfying meal for me. smile An enjoyable lunch I had!
