nice kaya toast Smile Nov 04, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

recently addicted to ya kun kaya toast, always want to grab it for snack whenever i pass by any ya kun outlet. although the toasts are more expensive than those normal coffee shop, the bread and kaya spread are much better. actually bought their kaya spread before to try make kaya toast at home but somehow the taste is just not as good. also tried other type of toast such as the cheese and ice cream version but i think the standard kaya toast with butter is still the best =)

nice yakitori Smile Nov 02, 2011

another fancinating food store at taka basement. the aroma from the freshly grilled meat is so nice that it always tempt me to stop over and buy some yakitori to snack on. i am always very mesmorise by the sequential movement of the yakitori caused by the automated grilling machine, it just look so cute. although the yakitori set looks abit expensive and like not much stuff, it's actually quite filling. the combination of the sauce with rice is great too!!!

nice takopachi Smile Nov 02, 2011

i guess this is the one of the oldest and still surviving takopachi shop in singapore. always very fancinated by the way how the staff flipped over the tako balls, seem such a cool thing and they just look so pro at it. have been eating it for very long time but i felt that the standard somehow dropped a little over the years and the filling gotten a bit stingy too. nonetheless, is still my favourite takopachi shop =)

nice soups Smile Oct 10, 2011

my fav soups are chicken Ragout and beef goulash, never fail me coz they always taste so nice. the tangy tomato is oso a good choice esp when eaten with the bread bowl coz the bread tend to soak up the soup taste. their spicy wedges are great sides to share too. the stuffed mushroom was great but i think the standard kind of drop now so it wasnt as nice as before. & 1 bad thing abt soup spoon is the seating arrangement, the seats and tables r always so cramp up that is very hard to walk in & out during the meal.

sorry for the disintegrated sandwich pic cause was too hungry so only remember to take the pic after cutting open the bread. anyway, quite a fan of soup spoon but one thing i dont like about their stuff are the sandwiches and wraps... somehow they just do not taste as nice as their soups and there is this funny taste to the sauces they used that i do not really like it. and the salad that comes with the bread is quite horrible, mayb is just to me that i dont like the vinegar taste in the salad BUT their other salads are much better
