yummy cookies OK Dec 12, 2012

I finally gave in to my boyfriend who has been wanting to try Quiznos sub for a pretty long while. I was glad to see they had something for the vegetarians aswell. I went for the parmesan sub with the vegetarian option & topped up for a meal then came with a macadamia cookie and drink.

What I personally love: The bread was extreamly soft! It tasted so fresh and I wouldn't mind eating it on its own ;D. The cookies there were also amazing! Both the bread and cookies were so much better then subway! The cookies here with crunchy yet soft at the same time which made them really addictive (:

The downside: I did not like the idea that I could not choose what my sub should consist of. My sub consisted of way too many mushrooms (they were practically overflowing from the sub), a little lettuce, afew slices of tomatoes and a little cheese. I found the flavor of mushroom way too overpowering. The meal was also on the overpriced side.

I would not mind coming back just for cookies though! ;D

potato platter

potato platter

My boyfriend and I decided to go over to Yoshinoya for a snack one lazy afternoon smile There were no vegetarian options available but I did discover the potato platter which I did find delightful. I loved the platter as it came with different varieties of potato which did not make me sick of eating the dish. 3 different types of potato methods were used.

There was criss cut fries that takes on a waffle like shape and a good change from french fries. The crispy type which can be seen in the picture was somewhat like a patty which was deep fried and came with mixed vegetables and last but not least the yummy potato smiley faces which was my favorite smile

The platter was served with mayo which complimented it well. It was also very filling and perfect for sharing.

It was also my first time trying Sjora (blackcurrent) which I automatically loved. Great change from soft drinks smile

The meal costs about $8+ which was a little pricy. It served well as a snack though smile

Green apple green tea Smile Dec 12, 2012

Categories : Bubble Tea/ Tea

I have always walked pass Cocomo but have never given it a try. This time, being deprived of bubble tea for ages, I decided to give this place a shot. This shop was located just 2mins away from the Mrt Station. They have lots of varities to suit everyone. From milk tea's to iced tea's and so on.

I decided to try one of my favorite's Green apple green tea with pearls smile I love how the taste of infused green apple was combined with fresh green tea. Gave it that sweet zesty taste that I adore. I did find the drink a little on the sweet side but the ice in it helped to dilute the beverage.

It was good to go after 3minutes of stirring.

P.s Don't forget to give it a good shake first smile

Mr Prata is well known for their scrumptious crispy prata's that are really made for perfection. However, they sell other ala carte items too such as mee goreng which I tried this time round. I had asked for a vegetarian version and they cooked me one. The portion was pretty huge. I must say, the noodles were pretty good. However, after a few more servings, I found it to be rather plain. They could do a better job of adding more vegetables to substitute for the meat and it would have been perfect. The noodles were not too oily either which is often a concern and most prata shops.

Service wise, staff at the outlet were all very friendly and sincere which came as a pleasant surprise for me smile Orders did take awhile to be served due to the crowds which were always constant. This seemed to be a usual hang out for dinner/supper. Despite the crowds, one could still find seats available. Be prepared to wait a good 15-20mins though smile

The best a foodcourt can offer Smile Oct 28, 2012

Categories : Food Court | Kids-Friendly

As I was really hungry after class, I decided to pop by at Shami a little after lunch time to get a take away. I opted for the vegetarian biryani - which to my knowledge is one of the best a foodcourt can offer. This would definitely costs much more at restaurants. The rice was very fragrant and if you were lucky, you'd be able to spot quite a number of raisins and cashew nuts which makes the dish even more fragrant and appetizing.

For sides, I ordered my must have soya bean (chunks of soya mock meat marinated in a delicious spicy sauce), curried potatoes and stir fried french beans. All the sides were really yummy!

For starters, the soya mock meat was very tender at the same time, it tasted really nice and chewy. There is a certain method of cooking soya and when its not cooked right, it can tastes really dry and blunt. This, however, was well done.

The curried potatoes were very soft and was pretty much identical to potato masala. Apart from potatoes, the dish constituted of carrots as well which made it taste sweet and a little spicy as the same time.

The french beans is also one of my favorites as its always so crunchy! It is not spicy but the spices entice the dish and its always filled with flavor.

Each set meal is served with sambar (which is like dahl/lentil curry and vegetables) as well as Rasam (which is a spicy soup and great for people with a cough or flu). Yoghurt can also be purchased at an additional dollar to go with the meal - This is something that indians do alot especially when eating spicy food as it cools the body and definitely helps when eating spicy food.

I decided to get additional rice which was priced at $1 to share with the rest of the family.

Their side of Tofu Sambal is really good aswell!

If you stay in the north and have yet to visit shami banana leaf, please do! They have another outlet @ Causeway point smile
