'Black Pepper Flamer'

A fiery contender against McSpicy, at least that's what I thought when I chose the former over the latter, which is my favourite. The chicken patty is - not succulent, not spicy (as they claim it to be. Not even a tinge) and certainly not tasty. The ultimate winner of the face-off challenge.... need I mention?
I will definitely not recommend this to those who want a kick out of the burger.

I joined my nieces for dinner at Casuarina. Tried their north Indian styled chicken gravy. It was very bland. Chicken pieces were not tasty either.
My daughter ordered fried rice with anchovies. Tell you what... the same dish at hawkers centre, tastes way better. This, was oily and bland.
I ordered masala thosai. Ultimate disappointment! Seriously! Why Firstly, the thosai was cold and dry. Secondly, the potato filling, dry and flavourless. Nothing much to comment about the sambar and coconut chutney.
My niece ate the chocolate prata which was crispy and chocolaty (more chocolate was added upon her request) Other than that, nothing wow about it.
My verdict: Will never patronise this place again.

Half-cooked Cry Oct 19, 2011

A lunch outing to this place after Children's Day Celebrations at my daughter's school turned into a disappointment for me. I ordered lasagna. Bad Choice! The top layer looked fine, but as I cut into it, I noticed that the lasagna inside were not baked to perfection, or shall I say, were half-cooked. I had to settle for the fries that my daughter was eating. Hey! Thaw those sheets well before baking them!

Just For Hunger OK May 17, 2013

I was on my way to TTSH for an appointment. I anticipated the long waiting time. Thus, I decided to grab something light to feel my stomach.

Yip's Curry Chicken Puff @$2 each
The puff pastry tasted just like an average puff pastry, flaky and crispy, even after half an hour.

The potato/chicken/curry filling was too paste-like - mushy. Even then, it tasted nice (I am trying to be impartial). However, I would have preferred to have chunkier potato and chicken. (I happened to view the photograph of this puff on Yip's website. What it showed is not what you get)

On the downside, it leaves a buttery aftertaste which I did not like. I would not consider buying this again.

At Ion, Orchard, one does not much of a choice or rather, any halal eatery. BALIthai provides the respite. This is one place where you can get both Indonesian and Thai food. However, the choices are limited.

Tom Yum Seafood Soup
Palatable

Tahu Telur

Usually, this dish is served with the sauce poured over. Here, the sauce is served as a dip. the tofu was not fresh. I did not like the taste of this dish. Disappointed!

Glutinous Rice with Mango and coconut milk
Hmm... what can probably go wrong with the trio? Yum yum!
