I am happy to discover a place where they sell yummy ramen! I like my ramen with rich and thick soup broth! All of their soup bases are so rich that every sip will leave you wanting for more because it is that addictive.

Iroha's King's Ramen $18
The soup broth is chicken shoyu and has a miso base. Curly ramen is used for this. There are 5 pieces of generously thick chashu laid out, sprinkled with pepper around. It tastes as good as it looks!

Gantesu's King Chashu Ramen $15
noodle: curly egg ramen soup
The soup base is creamy miso with a balanced amount of chicken and pork. Broth for this is mild and has a subtle ginger taste due to the shredded ginger in it. The pork chasu is thinly sliced and is very tender. A special miso recipe is used to create that exclusive taste.

Aoyama Special Tonkotsu Ramen $15
The noodles for this is the thin type. There are black pepper added into the broth. The egg and pork are not marinated so that the original taste of the broth will be maintained.

Ikkousha God Fire Ramen
This has got to be one of my favourite! For this ramen, they serve in 3 different levels of spiciness ranging from normal, medium and lastly, dangerous. We were served the normal version and it is moderately spicy. I will only be game enough to try up to the medium level of spiciness even though I love spicy food. Spicy ramen lovers will love this!

Taishoken Cold & Spicy Tsukemen $15
This ramen is unique to Ramen Champion in Singapore and it is not available in Japan. This bowl of cold and spicy tsukemen has been customized for Singapore's hot climate. It seeks to give the person eating it a winter-feel when the ramen is being dipped into the cold sauce. This ramen is especially popular in the months of April and June when the weather is scorching hot all month. This is also the only dry ramen available.

Ikkousha Spicy Takana Ramen $15
The broth is spicy and slightly sour when if you mix the takana (preserved vegetables in the middle) in it. The spicy takana is homemade. I find this broth to be so flavourful and addictive at the same time. This is one of my favourites too and I like the thin ramen used in this bowl of ramen.

Bario Ajitama Ramen $14.50
thick yellow noodles is used for this ramen. The signature Bario noodles are thick and chewy, and very filling for the stomach. I am not a fan of thick yellow noodles though. This bowl of ramen has to be eaten hot as it will not taste as good when it is cold due to the thicker broth.

Chilled Hong Kong Milk Tea $3.90
Their milk tea is the bomb!! I love how they serve the milk tea in such a unique way. They also used dry ice as decoration, how creative!

Crispy Macau Pork Chop Bun
tender and juicy deep fried pork chop enveloped between. The bun is so fluffy, and is soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.

Deep-fried Spring Chicken with Fries & Lemongrass $8.80 (half)
The chicken is so tender and the skin is so crispy. The fries are really good! They are very crispy and I absolutely love crispy fries!

Taiwanese street food Smile Mar 03, 2013

Taipei Station is a small cafe that sells taiwanese popular street food as well as bubble teas.

Sweet Potato Fries $3.00

Crispy Chicken in Original Flavour (also available in cheese or wasabi) $4.50

Crispy Chicken in Cheese Flavour
Meat is tender and cheese seasoning is not overpowering, just right!

Crispy Vegetable Combo $4.50
a healther choice among all the fried foods maybe? Batter is crispy and it makes the vegetables so tasty!

Braised Pork with Rice
this is well-seasoned and really yummy! $4.90

For side dishes, there are 4 different flavours to choose from - Seaweed, Plum, Wasabi, Cheese.

Prices are relatively reasonable for the portion. Furthermore, there are seats for you to sit down and eat unlike many taiwanese snack stalls where it's a buy-and-go thing!

Ramen + don Smile Dec 27, 2014
Categories : Japanese | Ramen

Men-ichi has undergone a revamp (located at the japanese food street stretch) since my last visit. I didn't quite like the harsh lightings but the decorations were pretty unique. Service was on the slow side.

Salmon Teriyaki ramen $14.90: Salmon was soft, moist, and nicely cooked. The teriyaki sauce wasn't salty and complemented the salmon well. The soup was light-tasting and I felt it lacked the richness of a ramen broth. Ramen was al dente, much to my liking.

Cha Shu don (<$10). Cha shu was moist, tender and not very fatty. The meat had also absorbed the essence of the gravy. The gravy also complemented well with the plain rice which wasn't dry/lumpy.

Thai food Smile Dec 26, 2014

Phad thai: kway tiao was slightly sticky, chewy, but it got dry after a while. Portion was also comfortable for 2 pax. It was also well-flavoured.
Tom Yum soup clear: The tom yum flavour was sufficiently spicy and sour. I ate the phad thai together with the tom yum soup and they tasted good together too. However, the sotong was a little rubbery, perhaps overcooked.
Chicken wing stuffed with minced meat was a little oily, juicy and minced meat stuffed in the wings were fine and well seasoned.

Dessert was mango sticky rice, served unconventionally. Serving seemed small but just nice for 2 pax after a filling meal. The sticky rice wasn't overly sweet and the mango was very riped, sweet, and juicy.

Overall, it's worth a try smile
