thai food Smile Dec 18, 2014   (Related Review)

Back to now one of my favourite thai cafes at Orchard Tower to try their other items.

thai iced tea $2.50: It somewhat did not taste like the typical thai milk tea that I had elsewhere, plus it was more expensive too. Taste was sweeter and the "extra" taste reminded me of coconut or grass jelly (?? I know lol. can't seem to put a name to that taste)

Tom yum kway tiao $7.50: The tom yum soup had a tasty balance of spiciness and sourness. I would say it was more to the sour side but not a lot more. The seafood ingredients (squid, prawn) were fresh and prawns surprisingly tasted fresh (not frozen) too! I can't wait to be back to try their clear tom yum soup!

Affogato Smile Dec 16, 2014

Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato

Finally tried the raved honeycreme on a weekday mid-afternoon. Thank goodness I queued less than 5 minutes for this! I settled for affogato which costs $5.50. For such a small serving, it is quite expensive and not quite worth it. The icecream is really soft, melts easily but I love the light-tasting milky flavour of it. To me, it's definitely tastier than what some people likened it to mcsundae. However, I wouldn't queue >10 minutes for it. It's yummy but overrated.

Yellow curry rice Smile Dec 16, 2014

Categories : Thai

Finally got to try another thai cafe besides my usual haunts at Orchard Tower. I had the yellow curry rice for $5.50 and it was the yummiest thai curry rice I've ever had although fairly speaking, I've only tried red thai curry and green thai curry before. The yellow curry was fragrant and had a thai flavour to the normal yellow curry. The curry was rich and went well with the thin slices of tender chicken breast which was moist too. Yummy and worth the visit!

Avocado juice Smile Dec 16, 2014

Avocado juice $2.50: Price is reasonable as avocado fruit tends to be more expensive. The texture of the juice is not very even, with some lumps of avocado in it however taste is not bad. The avocado taste is distinct, further enhanced by added sugar but it does not taste overly sweet too. Overall, it is worth a try!

Curry rice Smile Dec 16, 2014

This plate of curry rice costs $2.20. The pork chop is a little dry and slightly tough but still acceptable. As it is dry, it is best to go with the gravy. The curry cabbage on the other hand is soft and texure is just right (not overcooked/undercooked). The curry is reasonably spicy, though for me, it will be better if it's spicier tongue Curry also goes well with the porkchop and rice and I love how they are generous with the curry.
