Garlic fried rice Smile Dec 18, 2014   (Related Review)

Tried their garlic fried rice $7 (also ordered a $2 cold sake promo). Portion was quite filling for one person. The garlic taste was very fragrant and rice was fluffy and wasn't lumpy and did not stick together too. Eggs were also added and fried together with the rice, making it tastier. If you love garlic fried rice, you'll love this! Best to share if you're ordering this so you can leave some stomach space for their other food items smile

Omakase burger Smile Dec 18, 2014

onion and mushroom (deluxe) cheeseburger with onion rings and root beer float $26. Beef was done medium rare but I'd say, it's probably between medium to medium rare. The beef patty was tender, juicy (perhaps a combi of juiciness and oiliness?) and the excessive juiciness of it made the burger soggy as the juice dripped to the bottom of the burger while eating. The onions were soft and the mushroom and sauce made the burger even tastier. For the onion rings, the onion could be seen in between the batter. The onion rings were huge and rather yummy too.

The root beer float was so refreshing and was a wonderful complement to burgers (sinful!). We also had the truffle fries which I felt was average only. The truffle taste was very faint, and wasn't worth the top-up.

Prices are on the steep side but it's definitely worth a try because their burgers are really good!

Pineapple fried rice with cashew nuts: the rice was rather fragrant with fresh pineapple cubes in it. However, this did not seem to be worth the price. The phad thai on the other hand, fared much better.

The phad thai kway tiao had a sticky like texture and was moist and had a sweet taste to it. The prawns did not taste like fresh ones however. I loved that the crunchy beansprouts added texture to the dish and the finely grounded nuts also complemented the phad thai's taste.

cold noodles OK Dec 18, 2014   (Related Review)

It was my first time trying out korean cold noodles and it wasn't really to my liking as I prefer food with stronger flavours. The buckwheat noodles were kept cold in the light-tasting ice cold broth. This dish was topped with shredded cucumber and egg. The cucumber gave it the extra crunchy flavour and was juicy too. Portion was quite filling. It sure is refreshing to have a cold and savoury bowl of noodles on a hot day though!

Back to now one of my favourite thai cafes at Orchard Tower to try their other items.

thai iced tea $2.50: It somewhat did not taste like the typical thai milk tea that I had elsewhere, plus it was more expensive too. Taste was sweeter and the "extra" taste reminded me of coconut or grass jelly (?? I know lol. can't seem to put a name to that taste)

Tom yum kway tiao $7.50: The tom yum soup had a tasty balance of spiciness and sourness. I would say it was more to the sour side but not a lot more. The seafood ingredients (squid, prawn) were fresh and prawns surprisingly tasted fresh (not frozen) too! I can't wait to be back to try their clear tom yum soup!
