Great Takoyaki Smile Mar 05, 2013
Categories : Japanese

The takoyaki here is amazing, and apparently one of the best in Singapore. Located in the busy food basement of Ion, the queue is sometimes long but it is definitely worth the wait. I love the octopus takoyaki the most. The is a perfect food stop when you're shopping in the orchard area smile

The takoyaki is made on the spot, and when you eat it, it is crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. lol

Local and fusion food Smile Mar 05, 2013
Categories : Café | Steaks and Grills

This cafe serves local and fusion food. I ordered stewed beef rice and my friend, laksa.

I was satisfied with the stewed beef rice. It was warm and filling, perfect for the rainy days we have been experiencing. The beef is soft and tender, and seems like it has been stewed for a number of hours.

According to my friend, the laksa was fragrant and at the right level of spiciness.

Chocolate cupcake Smile Mar 05, 2013

When i was here, they were having a promotion for the cupcakes. It was around $2.80 for a cupcake. I decided to try them out as they had a bright and cheery signboard directly outside the shop. Also, competitor Twelve cupcakes is right around the corner.

This chocolate cupcake looked pretty, though not as pretty as the chocolate cupcakes that 12 cupcakes has to offer. Tastewise, it was rather disappointing as well. I might return back to try their other offerings though! Wait-staff are friendly as well smile

Chawanmushi Smile Mar 05, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Had about 20 minutes to spare one weekday afternoon at scape, so we went to Sakae sushi for our favourite chawanmushi. Yeah, slightly weird to walk in to only have chawanmushi, but hey, this shows the chawanmushi is good tongue

This is the sakae chawanmushi. The egg was steamed very smooth and was just palatable for that rainy and dreary afternoon. It was a good perk me up as well! I will definitely be back, even if it's just for this tiny bowl of chawanmushi smile

Blueberry puffs Smile Mar 05, 2013
Categories : Desserts and Cakes

My parents got a box of 6 chewy juniors in the refridgerator. However, by the time I got home, only the Blueberry cheese one was left!

I'm not complaining though. The puff was crispy on the outside, and as its name suggests, it was chewy on the inside. I love the blueberry jam on the top, as its sweetness is just right. The vanilla cream cheese filling on the inside is tasty and sufficient for the size of the puff. The puff is also cheap as well, and def worth a try! smile
