First time at Joe & Dough! Smile May 08, 2013

It was my first time trying out Joe & Dough. They have delicious sandwiches and pastries. This outlet is crowded during lunch time at Raffles place and they have limited seats. It took me a while to get a seat though. I ordered the Bacon mushroom melt. It came in a soft crusted texture bread. I love the bread. However, the sandwich in my opinion was too dry cause the cheese, mushroom and bacon combination was too dry. I also ordered a vanilla velvet drink which was one of their most ordered. Choices can be between vanilla, caramel or hazelnut. Will try their other Sandwiches the next time!

I really enjoyed my lunch at Nakajima. I ordered the Saba set that comes with Japanese rice, miso soup with radish, grilled Saba fish, Salad and a hot green tea. I really enjoyed the lunch cause it only cost $8.50 and the Saba fish was delicious and crispy. I finished every bit of it, except the bones of course. Was glad that it came with a hot green tea too. I thought that it was really worth it was really affordable and comparable to food court pricing. Whats more, they also served other dishes such as Oden, salmon set and other sets. Do check it out if you are around Takashimaya.

Teochew Porridge Smile May 07, 2013

Was looking for a place to have teochew porridge and I chanced upon this stall located at Bukit Merah. Since it has good reviews, I decided to go down for a try. I ordered some dishes such as fish cake, salted eggs, minced pork and tao pok (Beancurd) and egg. This stall is located in a coffeeshop however you will notice that almost everyone will be having porridge from this stall at the coffeeshop. I assumed it is famous in this area. There are loads of variety to actually choose from, from squids to fish and other stuffs. It was a healthy meal and it wasn't expensive as well.

Spending per head: Approximately $8(Dinner)

The GrandStand outlet is by far the best twelve cupcakes outlet in my opinion. I have tried at the other outlets but none can beat this one. Was curious why there was a queue at Twelve Cupcakes at The Grandstand. It was actually quite popular. Since I couldn't resist the urge, I decided to buy the red velvet one and try. It was really fresh out from the oven. The taste is just different. My friend tried the chocolate one and she was amazed too. I am not sure why it tasted different even the frosting is so good. I really enjoyed the twelve cupcakes from this outlet.

It was my first time at Sque and I was actually only there to have their drinks. Went there with my family and we ended up ordering their dishes for sharing. It was really good. We ordered the roast chicken, the pork belly salad, the steak with fries, the Squel Platter and fish and chip. My favourite is still the roast chicken. It was roasted to perfection and the sauce was just nice. However the nibbles in the Squel Platter and the Pork Belly salad is a must try. Other than that there are really a wide selection of beers and wines in this restaurant. Go during happy hour and there are some selections for 1 for 1. The only drawback is that there aren't many indoor seats. Mostly outdoors and it can get pretty hot. Will definitely go back there again.
