Subway cookie is the best! Smile Mar 10, 2011

What I love about subway cookies is that they are absolutely addictive food which one can eat on the go. The flavours available are also very interesting but my favourite would have to be white chip macadamia. The cookie is also not too hard, soft at times which makes eating enjoyable. The size is also reasonably big for the price. I would always save the best for last and have my cookie after my sandwich.tongue

Yummy set meals at Ichiban Boshi Smile Mar 10, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi

Back to my favourite restaurant, I'm always spoilt for choices with the wide range of set meals available at Ichiban Boshi, Narrowing down to those with sashimi and chawanmushi, I decided to go for this chef's recommendation: Hire Mentai Sashimi Gozen.

This seems like one sumptuous meal: Kyoto-style double fried tenderloin pork with spicy cod roe sauce, mushroom with scrambled egg rice bowl, assorted sashimi, appetizer, chawanmushi, miso soup and fruit. It looked yummy when it came and the food sat in my stomach for quite a long time.

It is definitely worth the try and the food tastes good. Thumbs up, Ichiban Boshi! mad

I have always like to drink tea as it is a more refreshing and cooling drink especially during the hot season. Thus, teadot is one of my favourite outlet to hang out and chill with friends over a glass of icy tea frappe.

This time round, I decided to try Little Red Fuji which is a mixture of Fuji apple with black tea under the 'tea frappe' section. The taste of Fuji apples made the drink so refreshing and it smoothed out my Monday blues!

The sushi buffet that is just ok OK Mar 05, 2011

For only $18.88++, one can eat unlimited sushi (subject to terms and conditions). And for someone who is hungry, I find it worthwhile. Thus, I stepped into the Hei Sushi at Downtown East for its dinner buffet.

For the buffet, I was entitled to a udon, a red plate sushi, all $2.18 colored plates, a green tea and dessert. I decided to go for the udon first and was disappointed with the few strands of udon with a couple pieces of seaweed The red plate of sashimi I ordered was ok, just that the chefs could have sliced the fish into thinner slices.

The rest of the buffet was the ordering of the usual sushi which did not taste different from those sold outside. I did not eat much as I was full quite soon and dessert in the form of King's ice cream was takeaway.

Yummy Nasi Lemak Smile Mar 05, 2011
Categories : Hawker Centre

I have never been a big fan of nasi lemak as I find the latter rather oily and fattening, with all the coconut milk and stuff. However, after I've tried the one at this stall in Bedok, I'll just try to indulge myself once a week as it is still not a healthy dish lol

The rice is very fragrant, with a slightly strong taste/smell of pandan leaves. The otah meat is not overcooked and tasted just right, not like how some are overcooked and become very dry. The chicken wing is my favourite with its tender meat and crispy skin. Last but not least, a portion of long beans is added to make this meal healthier.

All this for a whooping price of $3. lol
