We bought vouchers such that we can get a Yogurt Parfait with Froyo from The Yogurt Place at only $3.

There is a choice of Strawberry/ Mango/ Chocolate, we got Chocolate and Mango. The Yogurt Parfait comes in a small square container with yogurt layered beautifully with chocolate/mango. Its topped with FroYo which is the tradename for frozen yogurt.

The yogurt served here is Geek Yogurt, which is suppose to be of thicker and creamier texture than the usual yogurt. It does have a creamy texture but taste a bit tart especially after tasting the frozen yogurt. The mango/chocolate does help to tone down the sourness.

The frozen yogurt on top of the parfait was quite nice too. The texture is in between creamy ice cream and ice stick we had as kids. It is supposed to be lower in calories than normal ice cream as it made use of milk instead of cream. But its kind of too icy cold for me.

Yogurt Place is at the basement 4 of ION Orchard, among the other stalls in the food hall. Its only a store front but you can enjoy your yogurt on one of the benches available at the food hall. Yogurt Place also offers a number of toppings which you can choose from.

Service is ok only, especially when compared to the service received at Japanese stalls in the same food hall. Only get 2 sentences from the service staff during the purchase - "Choose one of the flavours" & "Toppings not included for vouchers". Think we didn't even get a "Thank You" from her sad

Spending per head: Approximately $3

Laksa@49 Katong Laksa Smile Apr 19, 2012

There are a few laksa stalls around the area, my friend prefer this stall to the others and thus we settled with 49 Katong Laksa stall along this famous street for laksa.

The thick Bee Hoon was short and you can eat it with a spoon. The laksa soup was flavourful and had a generous portion of coconut milk added. The laksa comes with prawn, cockle and its very fragrant.

The chilli and herbs was served on a spoon, you can decide the spiciness with the amount of chilli to add to your soup.

You can also get the otak from the coffee shop to go with your laksa.

Beef Hor Fun@Geylang Lorong 9 Smile Apr 18, 2012

Beef hor fun at Geylang lorong 9 is something we will not missed when we go to Geylang for food.

Visit my blog for more information http://monsoontravel.blogspot.com

Although the standard of the beef hor fun seems to have dropped, somehow we will still come to Lorong 9 for Beef Hor Fun whenever we are at Geylang.

The Beef Hor Fun is still quite nice - beef slices are tender and the black bean gravy is flavourful. However, the wok-hei seems to lack much compared to previously and the hor fun is not as smooth.

But overall its still a very nice plate of Beef Hor Fun.

Petite Provence is famous for their soft croissant look alike wassant. They have custard, chocolate and kaya flavour for their wassants and my favourite is their custard flavour.

Petite Provence also has innovative creation as well. One unique item is their Brazilian Soyabean Bun that looks like mochi. Unlike the usual soft bread, this creation is crispy, chewy and sugary covered with Soy Bean powder. Best to eat it while hot, else it will turned soggy and the soy bean powder would have dissolved.

Bread @BreadTalk Smile Apr 17, 2012

Think Bread Talk is the shop which created the innovative pork floss bun. Loved the soft bread, the cream applied on the bread and how it goes well with the pork floss. They have the supper hot pork floss version as well, you can try if you love spicy food.

The other all time favourite is the Ham and cheese. My next best alternative if there is no more hot dog bun lol
