Ichiban Boshi Smile Jul 02, 2011

After trying the tempura ice cream from the previous outlet, i couldn't resist but head back to ichiban boshi for its delicious tempura ice cream again!

The outer layer of the ice cream is encased in a crispy, chewy tempura batter and dribbled with strawberry sauce on top! Cut open the 'ice cream ball's to reveal soft, and cool vanilla ice cream! Be careful to finish this quick- the ice cream tends to melt really fast!

Cream sauce udon Smile Jul 02, 2011

I was quite surprized to see that waraku had cream sauced UDON in their menus and since i was feeling a little adventurous, i decided to order the kinoko cream udon.

The kinoko cream udon is a cream based udon with mushrooms. It tasted quite delicious initially, but towards the end of the meal, it started to get a bit queasy to finish the entire bowl as the cream sauce was too milky.

Curry udon Smile Jul 02, 2011

I love japanese curry and usually orders japanese curry rice bowl when i'm at japanese restaurants. This time however, i decided to try out their curry noodles, and ordered the aburi chicken curry udon.

I loved the curry, as it is slightly sweet and spicy (catered to our tastes i guess, since traditional japanese curry is sweet). The use of udon in this dish was a unique combination, although i would have preferred rice instead. The chicken was thick and juicy, although a bit tough.

Overall, a nice dish to try out.

Oyako Don Smile Jul 02, 2011

The waraku at east coast park is one of the 'odd one out' amongst the chains of seafood restaurants not far away. After a tiring day at the beach, we decided to have some Japanese food at Waraku Japanese -East Coast Park.

I ordered the Oyako Don, which was a simple rice bowl of steamed egg, onions and chicken. I like how they were very generous with the chicken, and you can find many chunks of chicken in the rice bowl!

The steamed egg was sweet and complimented with the caramelized onions.

Waraku Japanese Smile Jul 02, 2011

Waraku Japanese is a nice place to have dinner and chill out with your friends, with authentic Japanese foods and a gorgeous layout!

I ordered the gyu minchi bibimbab, (a Korean dish i believe?) which was minced beef rice on hot stone. The meal took really long to arrive (could be due to the heating of the hot stone) but the food was worth the long wait!

The chicken was juicy and tender and i loved beating the uncooked egg yolk into my rice and allowing the hot stone to cook it slightly.
