The fish and chips here are excellent. They are crispy and the fish is fresh. The batter is done very well, in my opinion. It is tasty and delightful due to the crunch.

The terrible thing about the place is its service though, it seemed to be awfully slow and waiters are not always attentive. I must say that this dampened our evening as the waits were relatively long considering that it was not packed that time.

The other unfortunate aspect would be the price. Yes the fish is good but I think it's possible to find something of equivalent quality at a lesser price. So it's a good to visit but not a must.

The mushroom soup here is thick and creamy. The only problem is that one entire bowl of it seems to end up a little too much due to the creaminess. The bread is quite good too, soft and warm when eaten immediately. I think the best thing to do at Soup Spoon is to share with a friend and thus try out a variety of soups from the menu. Otherwise, will end up like me, too 'gelard'.

Wanted to have a light lunch and tried this Seared Tofu & Smoked Mushroom Mix. I love the seasoning they used for the greens - seems to be a mixture of balsamic vinegar and something else that's really appetising. The combination is really super yummy!! In fact I like the greens on the side rather than the seared tofu, which is quite bland and boring. Although the tofu is soft, it does not really have much flavour. This dish is saved by the salad sauce! If you like vege, go for this, but otherwise, stay away cos you'll be disappointed by the tofu and price

I tried the dish called Spanakopita. It's described as baked ricotta, spinach, feta and filo pastry served with grilled portobello and mixed vegetable ratotouille. The mixed vegetable ratotouille is really pretty good as it had the richness of the cheese but honestly, at this price, it's certainly not something I can afford too often cos the portion is not filling!

This squid ink pasta is straight on the mark! The right taste and the perfect blend with the seafood. The scallops were not too fantastic though. They lack the freshness I expect from a restaurant of this standing plus the price we're paying for. The prawns were alright though. So overall, the dish suffers from the fresh burst of seafood one who expect but scores on the lovely squid ink sauce. Certainly a must try for people who like squid ink pasta.
