Good place for lunch Smile Apr 21, 2013   (Related Review)

Brightly lit and well decorated interior; adds on to the dining experience.

Hoisin Har Cheong Baby Back Ribs ($24). A huge rack of ribs which can be shared between two small eaters. Tender meat without much fats. Comes with Garlic Thyme Gratin and Tomato Salad, which were great as well.

Cheese Toast with Basil Pesto ($6). Considerably huge portion for a side dish. Simple toast done well and reasonably priced. Comes with Thyme Tomato Salad.

Fluffy Pancake Smile Apr 18, 2013

We decided to try Hoshino for their desserts, heard their souffle/double stack pancake was good. As you can see from the photo it's really quite appetizing. Took about 20 mins for them to prepare it. Topped up a dollar or so for the vanilla soft serve ice cream which was great. You can ask for maple syrup, honey, black sugar, whatever they have to try. Prefer the maple syrup. Portion enough for 4 people.

Great Place for Mushrooms Smile Apr 05, 2013

I'm a mushroom lover and have patronized this place several times. The fried golden mushroom at $6 (huge serving by the way) is a great snack. Also love the gong bao monkey head mushrooms; it's difficult to find this dish anywhere. The highlight was the dessert though, they have many different kinds to choose from and the apple ice cream is not only appealing, cute, but also tasty: looking exactly like an apple, the "core" is made of chocolate.

Good Mango Pomelo Sago Smile Apr 05, 2013

Always liked mango desserts, and the one from Sheng Kee did not disappoint. Pomelo bits were plenty, and to add colour to the dessert, there were strawberry bits. Mango puree was thick and not overly sweet so as to taste artificial. Particularly liked the mango pudding in the middle of a cute dome shape. This is comparable or even better to some mango desserts in chinese restaurants.

Good Fondue Smile Apr 03, 2013

Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato

Fondue was great for 2 people (or even more). You'll get to select different flavours for 10 mini scoops of ice cream, which allowed us to try almost all flavours that we wanted to. Servings of fruits was also alright, and they had a variety of kiwi, strawberries, and rockmelon. We could do with more waffle biscuits or marshmallows though, as we had lots of chocolate left after we've finished everything.
