During one of the lazy Sunday afternoon, Vincent and I decided to head down to Tampines to walk through the platitude of malls in Tampines before heading over to Mischief <3 Us, an ice cream palour which has kindly extended an invitation to us to try out their offerings.

Situated near East View Primary school, it wasn’t the easiest of place to get to if you are a non-eastie. Google maps can solve everything though, so you should be able to walk, if not take a bus over. It isn’t a particular big shop, with about 15-20 seating capacity at maximum.

Both the strawberry and passionfruit caught my eye with their pretty colors and they did taste pretty good as well. I am particularly fond of the passionfruit flavor which is close match to the original fruits and they weren’t too sweet. Interestingly they weren’t recommended by the stall assistants, cause it found it better than some of the flavors they suggested.

Decided to go with some of the store favourites and order the Durian and Reese Buttercup flavors atop warm toasted waffles. The waffles arent fantastic with parts of the batter crispy and parts of it mushy, it didn’t give the crunchy bite which I personally feel is the bare minimum standard.

I found the Durian ice cream overwhelmingly sweet for my liking, and I swore off it after a couple of mouthfuls. The Reese Buttercup flavor was a much better choice which stayed pretty close to the original taste.

A robust brew which is not overly acidic, Vincent and I found ourselves slurping it up happily. It is a pretty generous cup of coffee, and probably one of the items which I would order again if I have the opportunity to visit them next time.

Romantic Spot for Lovers OK Feb 13, 2014

Looking for a simple date out, I head out to visit one Singapore’s romantic dining locations with my partner in food crime, Vincent.

It has hard not to understand the allure of Bliss House Theme Restaurant. Romantic flower settings that seem to pop out of a fairy tale book, with lush green carpet grass underneath our feet, whats not to love?

VERDICT

The dishes here are simple food, nothing spectacular and bordering on the ordinary. I didnt dislike anything, but there is nothing which makes me want to head back again to this pretty little place unless I want to have a pretty lunch to enjoy a meal with my girly girl friends.

It is still a nice place which you can consider heading once on a date night, or for the upcoming Valentine’s Day which you can check out their menu here. Do remember to make a reservation!

Categories : Korean | Buffet | Korean BBQ

If you wanna head down to the place, please make a reservation. I saw other guests who had reservations, waiting for at least half an hour before they got their seats. Lucky we were late lo if not it would be an agonizing 45 mins wait.

Once we are seated, these dishes will start materializing right in front of our eyes by the waiter at lightning speed!

Complimentary First Round of Side Dishes consist of:

Kimchi Pickles
2 different types of Kimchi
Cold Seaweed Soup (Sour and appetite inducing. I like it but not the others!)
Salad (Which i forgot to try. But must be good cause everyone was eating it)
Ikan Billis (Nice and crunchy)
Pickled white radish
Onion salad (The bottom of the pic)
Cold tofu (Awesomely goooood!)
Seasoned Vegetables
Pumpkin Dessert (Subtlely sweet and not jelat. Very nice touch to end the meal with)

SEAFOOD PANCAKE
On the right of the picture, you can see the giant pancake which we ordered.
Super nice when you eat it with the spicybean pasta and chilli dip!

GINSENG CHICKEN SOUP
Nice but i have tasted better ones in Takashimaya’s Korean Restaurant (just opposite Pariss Seafood Buffet)
Subsequent refills are chargeable. But I doubt you would ask for more cause there were so many of them!

BBQ
The staff will come over to your table and help you with the bbqing and cutting up of the meat for you to wrap it in the lettuce which is complimentary and you can always ask for more servings to compliment the meat.

We ordered BBQ Pork Slices and and Pork Collar and the servings were pretty small in my honest opinion, much as the dining experience was fun and yums. I would probably only come back for the lunch buffet which is much more affordable which free flow of meat.Although I was full after the meal, i didnt really feel shiok enough cause I was full from the side dishes and had like probably.. 7 pieces of meat about the size of a bus ticket.

LEMON PUDINA / MANGO LASSI

LEMON PUDINA / MANGO LASSI

The mango lassi is a common drink that we see at most indian restaurants. I did enjoy this pretty much. What caught my attention was the Lemon Pudina drink which was a very light and refreshing drink. I enjoyed it much more than I though I would.
FISH HEAD CURRY

FISH HEAD CURRY

The fish head curry was a pity, because I enjoyed the sauce so much! Just the right amount of spiciness to not cause a fire on your tongue. Sadly, the fish wasn’t fresh and it tasted dry. It is something that can be much more improved
RESHMI KEBAB

RESHMI KEBAB

It was well marinated, but the meat seems pretty mushy. This was also pointed out by another food blogger. I am not apparently fond of how it tasted, but some people might like how soft the meat.
CRAB MASALA

CRAB MASALA

Totally not worth it. Perhaps it was a bad season, there was no meat in the shells which left me feeling zzz for getting my hands dirty for nothing. There was definitely a lot of juice in this dish. The owner did explain to me that it wasn’t really the season for crabs, thus the lack of meat.
MURG CHEESE KI GULESTHAN

MURG CHEESE KI GULESTHAN

This is similar to butter chicken. Probably the best dish in this place
Garlic Naan

Garlic Naan

I would recommend having the Naan and Butter Chicken at Muthiah Restaurant should you decide to make the trip down.

Perhaps because these are all new items which they are looking to introduce into their restaurant and they are still in the process of improving it. Honestly I haven’t found a very good place for Indian food which is comparable to what I had in India. What I got at Muthiah would only be 60% of the standard that I got in India.

Food Hunt Madness OK Oct 06, 2013

Located in the middle of B2, the icing room stands out with its pink accented decorations.

Serving cakes, macaroons and other sweet delights it is a heavy for girls of all ages.

Ordered the raspberry cake which looks absolutely gorgeous. Taste wise i found the hazelnut taste to be a little clashing with the raspberry tartness.

The macaroon soft and not chewy. Definitely not worth the $2 which u are paying for it. Though the pretty colours are worth getting it for friends!
