My sister in law suggested to have western food for dinner tonight and she had make reservation at this Mariners Corner restaurant that is located at the 1st floor of a building that is opposite to Pinnacle@Duxton. The interior is very old school and cosy and is like dining in the cruise cabin.

 
For the price of $4.80, we can top up to a complete meal that consists of coffee/tea/softdrinks, soup of the day and free flow of salad from the salad bar. I will strongly recommend to top up to this complete meal as the selection from the salad bar is quite huge and most of it tastes great especially the coleslaw that tastes a little sour with crispy lettuce.

 
Calamari ($6.00), nice, crispy on the outside.

 
Tiger prawn and fish combo ($19.50), my brother in law ordered this and commented that the cheese that covered the prawn is nice and both the prawn and fish are fresh.

 
Lobster and steaks combo ($25.80), the lobster they served is quite huge and fresh. The steak is grilled nicely to what I want at medium rare. Great dish for people whom love steak. The steak is soft and tender.

 
Spaghetti Marinara ($16.80), I did not try this but from the look, this looks yummy.

 
Do call for reservation as the place is quite limited and is packed during peak hours. A great place for dinning and the staffs here are quite patient and nice. And most importantly, the food here is reasonably priced and definitely worth coming for more meals again.

I am meeting my friends to go Sentosa for a day of fun together and we decide to meet for early lunch at Bosses at Vivovity. I like the interior design of Bosses, it is modern design with a lot of black furniture like black seats, black tables, etc.

 
Century Egg Pork Congee ($16.00), a little pricey for this congee but is glad it tastes great. The congee is smooth with strong sweet taste of the pork. The century egg and pieces of shredded chicken enhances the taste of the congee. Quite a big bowl, just nice to be shared for 2 pax.

 
Century Egg Roll ($6.00), personally I don't like this dish. It is sort of like a cold dish with century egg and some other ingredients (which I cannot remember what else) together in a rice skin. It tastes a little weird and has a little wasabi taste. I do not recommend this dish.

 
Char Siew Rice Roll ($6.50), this is nice, the skin is smooth and the char siew filling is sweet, goes well with the no taste smooth skin. The light soya sauce that is pour over the rice roll is nice, not too salty.

 
Raddish pancake ($7.00), this is also nice and I will recommend to try this. The skin is crispy and the raddish filling is fragrant with strong taste of la cheong (Chinese sausages). Nice and yummy.

 
Custard Bun ($6.00), this is another dish that I strongly recommend at bosses. The custard bun here is so yummy that I can eat 2-3 at a time. The bun is soft and springy. The custard filling that is make from salted egg yolk is so smooth with strong taste of salted egg yolk. Most importantly is the custard is those flowing type, it flows out as soon as you cut the bun into half. A word of caution, do not bite straight into the bun, the filling is quite hot when it flows out. Super nice bun.

 
Har Gau ($5.00), the har gau here is nice, the prawn they use is quite large and is crunchy and fresh. One downside is that they do not have those typical dim sum chilli sauce but nevertheless, the chilli paste they provide is quite nice too.

 
Chicken Feet ($9.00), the chicken feet is cooked till soft and the sauce is nice, a little spicy.

 
The staffs here are quite nice and prompt, our tea is refilling promptly and the food is served quite quickly. Great place for family or friends gatherings but the food here is great and nice but is a little too pricey I feel. A once in a while indulgence is good.

We saw a deal online for buffet dinner at Royal Palm on National Day for $48 and a few of us decide to buy it to spend our first national day evening together. We are so looking forward to it as this is going to be a dinner buffet and we can get to watch fireworks while we dine. This buffet starts from 7pm to 10pm and it includes free flow of soft drinks. We do not have to get the drinks ourselves, the staffs here will walk around to help us pour and refill. A little slow at times but we are still quite ok with their service.

 
One of friend decide to buy this Singapore Sling Cocktail at $10 after many persuasion from the manager. This is an alcoholic drink, I don really fancy this kind of alcoholic cocktail but my friend manages to finish it.

 
The buffet spread is sort and serve according to various ethic group. Check out the spread they have for the evening.

 

 
These are some of the stuffs that I have tasted for the evening. The chili crab is one of the hottest for the night, often wipe out quickly when they refill. The crab does not have much meat but the sauce is nice. The carrot cake is a little dry but still taste ok with the sambal chili they provide. The fried hokkien mee is not nice, dry and too salty. The sushi is ok, the ingredients they use are fresh.

 
The satay is not nice, too dry but the satay sauce is nice and we eat it with the chicken wings which is crispy on the outside.

 
Gado Gado, quite nice with the nice balachan chili which is spicy and smelly enough and the nice satay sauce. I like this balachan chilli so much that I even dip it with crackers and the other food.

 
Food choice is a little disappointing with not much choice but we like the feeling of getting to eat and watch firework at the same time.

Happy Mid Autumn Festival to all. I am so lucky to be one of the Winners of the Bakerzin Mooncakes for the Mid Autumn Festival Contest hosted by Openrice. I collected my prize from Bakerzin at Harbourfront and the prize consist of 2 Classic Premium Egg Yolk and 2 Classic Melon Seed Mooncake.

 
I am so in love with the mooncake bag by bakerzin. It's kind of leather bag with logo embedded on it and the best thing is they have many other nice colours and designs for you to choose from.

 
The mooncakes are packed in a box of 4, the box is quite practical as the container can be recycled for other purposes.

 
Apart from the nice bag and practical container, the mooncake by Bakerzin is nice too. This is the Classic Premium Egg Yolk mooncake, the lotus paste filling is nice and not too sweet. The salted egg yolk goes well with the lotus paste, great taste. I finished half of it at one go.

 
This is the Classic Melon Seed Mooncake, the lotus paste filling is nice with bits of melon seeds in it. The melon seeds enhance the taste of the lotus paste filling when you bite on the melon seeds.

 
The filling of the Classic Premium Egg Yolk mooncake, generous filling of lotus paste and the salted egg yolk is huge.

Bakerzin at Habourfront looks cozy, I shall revisit next time to try their dishes.

This teochew porridge stall is located along upper serangoon road and check out the amount of food we can choose from.

 
These are some of our favourite food that we will usually order when we dine here.
Salted veg, they are simmered till soft and has a little salty and sour taste, great with plain porridge
Stingray with chilli, this stingray dish is nice, there is a little salted beans taste and thou its fry with chiili, it is not very spicy and it surprisingly goes well with my plain porridge.
Chicken feet, nice and it is cook till soft and has absorb the black sauce.

 
Big intestine, like the chicken feet, it is soft and has absorb the black sauce.
Steam egg, the steam egg is smooth and soft. Nice, even my kids love it.

 
Fried cabbage, nothing much to rave about.
Chili lala, the chilli gravy is nice.
Steam meatball, my hubby's favourite dish. The minced pork is well marinated and is juicy and is nice.
