Love their chicken :D Smile Jul 19, 2013

I actually tried Moi Lum at SFF 2013 instead at their actual physical store. Despite just having a makeshift booth with such a small kitchen, Moi Lum still manages to keep their high standards! I was expecting a dry, distasteful chicken but to my amazement, their roasted chicken was totally the opposite of my expectations. The skin was well-roasted, not too dry. The chicken meat was super tender and flavorful. Their chili was pretty good too, not too spicy with a hint of lemon/lime that enhanced the spicy flavor. Was supposed to be on a diet but I polished off the huge plate of roasted chicken rice as I just couldn't stop till I finished every single mouth of it. I will definitely try more dishes at their physical store when an occasion arises!

Authentic Starbucks Experience OK Jul 19, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Coffee

Decided to reward myself with a cheesecake from Starbucks after a long day of studying in school. I always loved their Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake. The hearty cheesecake, with just the right amount of sweetness from the white chocolate and raspberry never fails to cheer me up when I am feeling stressed or upset. To top it up, the very friendly barista offered me a new creation she was trying out! It was some kinda red bean drink that was too bad tasting, but I think it being free just makes it even more awesome hahaha. I love free stuff! #cheapo tongue

More than just pizzas! Smile Jul 19, 2013

Twoface boasts of pizzas with unorthodox and unique flavors such as the use of Giam He (salted fish), which cannot be found in any pizza shop I supposed. However, in my opinion, quite contrary to the name of the store, I feel that the star of their menu is definitely their pasta dishes!!

My favorite is their Aglio Olio with Mushroom and Bacon. It does not leave a sick oily taste in your mouth, as some other poorly cooked Aglio Olio do. Instead, the olive oil has been fully infused with the fragrance of garlic. Just as its name suggests, the mushroom is definitely the star of the dish and not just a simple garnish. In addition to the garlic fragrance, you can also taste the goodness of fresh mushrooms in this simple pasta dish. Complemented perfectly with the extra bacon fat goodness, its just bliss in your mouth! lol

A huge fan of cream or rather anything creamy, I absolutely adore their Carbonara as well! Every mouthful is just packed with the rich flavors of cheese and bacon, but nonetheless it does get a little 'gelat' (as for all carbonara! I haven't had any that doesn't, so do feel me to recommend me if you guys know of any) till the end. Even so, Twoface's carbonara is one of the best I ever had.

If you are looking for drinks, Twoface also stock special beers from Europe like Leffe, Lindeman's that are not very common everywhere.

The food at Twoface is pretty affordable and its name, though contemptible sounding is just creative wordplay on the shop's concept - a coffee shop by day, cafe by night.

Best Eggs' Benedict Smile Jul 19, 2013

Categories : Fusion | Café

Late Plate's Eggs' Benedict are easily one of the best I have tried. Not a fan of English muffins to begin with, Late Plate's choice of using scones as a base totally elevated the flavor of the Eggs' Benedict. The moist and crumbly texture of the scone complemented the poached egg in the best way possible. I can only say the whole combination of salmon, poached egg and the scone topped with the Hollandaise Sauce which was just right in proportions of yolk and butter, works really really well.

Spruce Burger OK Jul 18, 2013
Categories : American | Steaks and Grills | Brunch

Spruce had cleverly kept the decor of the old Fire Station, which makes it an even more special place to dine in. I tried the Spruce burger which was pretty average in my opinion. The patty was quite juicy, and the cheese and onions really complemented it pretty well. But after awhile, it got a little too dry for my liking and the bun was a little on the dry and hard side too. Not the best burger I had, but good for the ambiance, especially if you are choosing a place for a date. Considering that their burger is one of the cheapest items on the menu, Spruce is not for those on a budget, as my bill came up to around $30 after getting a drink. My friend had the Baby Back Ribs which was quite good, as the back ribs were really soft and have soaked up all of the goodness of the BBQ sauce, but again for $33, its considered slightly pricey to me.

Date of Visit: Jan 30, 2013

Spending per head: Approximately $30(Dinner)
