loh mei

loh mei

first time trying this loh mei with my family for dinner, this cost about $4, and there's also the $6 or $8 set, it consists of pork, pig skin, chicken wing, veg, tau pok and other etc with fermented bean curd sauce. rice cost extra of 50cents. heard from my parents that this is like one of the last stall in singapore, really dunno if its true or not, but at least you can find it at chinatown (:

if you are eating this dish with a group, advice from my dad is to buy individual portions, the $4 set instead of the $8 one, cause they will give lesser in the $8 set compare to buying more $4 set itself tongue

daddy decided for dessert after dinner, thus after walking around, we decided to stop by mei heong yuen dessert for a treat. quite a big store so its not hard to miss it, there also quite a number of desserts, both hot and cold, in the menu itself. just like other dessert shop, u need to go to the counter to order and pay before they serve you the desserts ..
banana choc ice

banana choc ice

lime snow ice

lime snow ice

coconut pudding

coconut pudding

mango pomelo

mango pomelo

the range of prices for the dessert is from $2.50 to $6 around there. love the banana chocolate ice, really got the taste of eating banana with chocolate sauce on it, however, i not sure if they do put lot of flavouring in the ice itself since the smell of it is really strong, like when you open those banana flavour pocky sticks. ( first time there so yupps )

dad ordered the lime snow ice, which cost $5, a little sour since its lime, but still worth the taste (:

Wanton noodles OK Sep 30, 2013
Categories : Malaysian | Hawker Centre | Noodles

I ordered a bowl of wanton noodle dry, which cost about 3 dollars.

Surprisingly there's 2 dumplings added in the soup, which usually when u ordered dry, u only get 2 wanton on the noodle and just a bowl of soup, but now total got 2 fried n 2 in soup ( or maybe is just me not exploring too much tongue ) the dumplings and wantons are in bite sizes so it really easy to eat it in one mouth, they taste nice and tasty but the soup is a little oily but not overly, and soup was normal.

Another thing is the people at the stall are quite friendly (:

I visited tontei pork restaurant with my family, this shop is located at the corner area at the japanese street area along with other japanese store.

Food was really great, especially the pork cutlet. for me, i order the jumbo pork with the sashimi set combo, which is about 23.90 if i dont remember wrongly. but the portion was really huge for the pork cutlet! lol so be prepare to be really filled up after the whole meal. The sashimi is yummy.

Japanese buffet OK Sep 27, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi | Buffet

I feel that there isn't really much variety of food for a buffet, but it might be because me and my group of friends when around 2pm, with only less than a hour before the lunch buffet end. Lunch is about $20 per person, which include free flow of drinks, but only around 17 plus without drink.

I do find the raw salmons really tasty, chawanmushi is nice, and the ice cream itself is wonderful. But the noodle was a little cold along with some of the food, but maybe it cause of the timing. advise to go early next time for more variety of food, since they don't refill much of the food after 2pm.
