Salad

Salad

The salad was good, with appropriate amount of dressing and vegetables. The Foie Gras in the salad comes in chunky bits as well and chef is not too stingy about the serving.
Oyster

Oyster

Oyster is fresh but the size is normal. You can probably find similar fare at other locations at lower prices. Still, the price is acceptable for the location.
Fried Asparagus

Fried Asparagus

This was arguably the best order of the day. You don't get to try this everyday. The asparagus is well done - crispy and full of crunch. The dips are exellent as well. A definite must-try

This stall does not seem amazingly good from the exterior, but i was pleasantly surprised by the quality and freshness of the food. The sushis are good, compared to other mass market sushi chains and the portion is sufficient as well (at least for me). Would recommend this salmon sushi topped with fish roe. The sushi goes well with the creamy sauce and the fish roe, making it a delightful dish.

Yogurt Cake Smile Aug 26, 2013   (Related Review)

Went to 112 Katong to get the Yogurt Cake for a friend's birthday - seems a novelty to me. Ice cream cakes are pretty common these days but not yogurt cake. The cakes seems to melt pretty fast. The flavour is strawberry, with a layer of whipped cream on top with chocolate flakes and a layer of sponge below, presumably to hold the cake together. The cake itself is nice as i like yogurt.

Thai Food Lunch  Smile Aug 23, 2013

This Thai restaurant is at the row of low shophouse. It isn't really furnished nicely as compared to those in retail mall. But the food is surprisingly good. The fried rice is not too oily like those normal ones, and the portion for the large sized one is really big. Prawns and sotong are fresh as well. I really liked their deep fried golden mushroom as it's not too oily and seasoned nicely.

Finally went to the all time famous Tiong Bahru bakery that's supposed to be legendary and had positive reviews from many critics. Tried the Kouign Aman (left) and Croissant Orange (right). They taste fabulous. The Kouign anan was awesome and the croissant was crispy and fluffy (buttery yet not too over). Definitely a must-try if you ever have the chance to visit. Good to go with a cup of nicely brewed coffee.
