Laksa @ 328 Katong Laksa Smile Sep 21, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Noodles

Remember Singapore's very own hawker heroes? Where our local hawkers and Gordon Ramsay had a face-off? Well, I decided to take a visit to 328 Katong Laksa (which was one of the contestants who won) to see if their Laksa had improved since I had last visited it 6 years ago.

We ordered 2 bowls of their laksa and some otah to go along with it. I must say, the laksa has improved over the years! 6 years ago, I remembered my bowl of laksa to be extremely powdery but now the gravy is not only less powdery but it also tastes pretty awesome lol

But because of their popularity from the hawker heroes challenge, the queue at 328 Katong Laksa do get considerably long sometimes. So if you don't mind dining outside with the heat then do go there to try their laksa!

Went to Todai for a sumptuous buffet! lol At Todai, there is a wide selection of seafood - with the highlight on its crab. Asian delights and desserts are also available as well. Not really a fan of crab, however the crabs at Todai were really sweet and fresh! *Thumbs up* The desserts were not too bad either!

P.s. Pardon the lack of pictures of the other food at the buffet - am I dessert fanatic that's why mad

Desserts @ Canele OK Sep 05, 2013
Categories : Café | Desserts and Cakes

There are quite a few Canele outlets with the latest one (if I'm not wrong) at Plaza Singapura's new wing. Being told that their macaroons was good, I decided to try out their other desserts which looks good and is so hard to resist when you walk past those display cases smile We ordered a strawberry shortcake and a creme brulee.

The strawberry shortcake was really pretty, but sadly it was quite a disappointment as I thought its taste would match its aesthetic appeal. To me I felt it was more of a normal sponge cake with strawberries in it. However, the creme brulee was good! Rich smooth texture with the sweet sugar crusted top. Personally I preferred the creme brulee over the shortcake, as it is more value for money. I love the place though (we went to the paragon outlet), with large plush sofa chairs - it gives this majestic appeal that makes you feel like sitting in there sipping tea the whole afternoon smile

Chinese Food @ Imperial Treasure Smile Sep 22, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum

Had lunch at Imperial Treasure with the family. Imperial Treasure which is a relatively well-known chinese restaurant, that is similar to other chinese restaurants like Din Tai Fung. We went on a Sunday, which is quite crowded at the branch at Tampines 1. We ordered fried rice and prawn dumpling soup noodles to share between the 4 of us, together with red bean pancake as sides and Tang Yuan coated with sesame for dessert.

Fried rice was fragrant and nice, but the noodles were rather normal like any other chinese restaurants. We absolutely love their red bean pancake! Sweet yet savoury, but not a thing for the health-conscious people due to the large amount of oil that goes with it. The tang yuan was good too, a change from the usual tang yuan in soup style.
