Crispy Thin Pizza Smile Jun 28, 2014

Categories : Pasta

Something different from Pizza Hut. I always like my pizza skinny! The crispy thin crust with the savory topping was simply the best.
Their Mozzarella Pizza was a must try! The soft and melting mozzarella counter the slightly sour tomato meat sauce. With the help peppery rocket leaves, they created a beautiful melody in my mouth. LOVE IT.

Meatball Napolitana was not as good as what I thought it will be. The meatball was dry and the sauce failed to work together.

Tea Break with Home made Egg Tart Smile Jun 28, 2014

Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

It was my friend first time making egg tarts. So we planned to wash them down with a cup of coffee. If any of my foreign friends asked me which coffee shop I usually visited, Ya Kun will be my first choice.

A aromatic cup of kopi electrify my smell and excited my taste bud for the upcoming egg tarts. Their coffee had a strong roasted smell and nutty finish. The best thing was that it costed less than S$2.

Ramen for  OK Jun 28, 2014
Categories : Japanese | Ramen

I like my noodle medium and slightly springy.
This time I tried their Wanton Men. I was disappointed with the amount of the prawn in the wantons. it did not even add up to one prawn. The soup was slightly salty and the pork belly was over-stewed.

We were served with a very energetic waitress! Good engery, Good service and Great smile!

If you ask me if it is worth it, I would tell you to try just once.

Grain-less Congee Smile Jun 23, 2014

My kind of breakfast! I love my congee smooth and grain-less. With a additional of a egg makes everything perfect. The instant the hot congee met the raw egg, most of the egg white is cooked but leaving the yolk raw. My favorite moment was when I broke the yolk and mixed into the congee. Immediately, the congee turned from a boring pale white into a energetic yellow!
Back to their congee, they provided a wide range of variety from pork to seafood. Firstly, they made the stock with bones then slow cooked the congee for hours till every grain had been broke down. Lots of effort is needed to cook a good congee because of the long hours of stirring to prevent congee from sticking at the bottom.

However, the liver was overcooked and there were only few slices of pork.

Late night supper OK Jun 15, 2014
Categories : Teochew | Chinese | Coffeeshop | Noodles

Personally, I love to eat soft bones. I like the crunchy texture with the meat surrounding it.
I rarely find a stall with its soft bone stewed till tender and not mushy. Generous topping.
However, the texture of the noodle was not constant. Sometime it was very springy, sometime it was too soft. Lots of MSG in the soup. Focus on their topping!
They didn't have a constant quality control but it was a good place for supper.
