TGIF! XXL PIZZA Smile Nov 26, 2013
Categories : Italian | Restaurant | Pasta | Pizza

If it was not my friend, i would not even know about this XXL Pizza available in Basement of Suntec City. We always have a problem of finding the right place for the large number of us. We have at least 10 of us on this friday night for a farewell dinner! One of them is flying off soon for oversea internship placement in Shanghai. Feeling so excited for him, as well as for my second visit back for my XXL PIZZA!

JUST LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THE PIZZA MAKE ME DROOLS.

The crust is thin so that you could have a mouthful of their fillings. It is definitely a lovely place for large gathering! lol

By the way, their chicken wings and desserts are tasty as well! You got to have some side dish other than your main pizza!

More SALMON PLEASE ! :D Smile Nov 20, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese

I SIMPLY LOVE RAW SALMON! lol It applied to a few of my friends as well. So we have decided to give this nice and cozy Miz a try. The design of the place reflects a very japanese style with curtain at the entrance and wooden furniture i thought. It does not give me the "feel" that normal shopping mall restaurant does. Probably because it is located somewhere at the shophouse. For the food menu, it can be considered a little pricey. You will have to share which makes it slightly cheaper.

So we ordered salmon sashimi as our first dishes and followed by a few more variety that sounds nice on the menu.
Salmon Shashimi $12

Salmon Shashimi $12

You got to love this salmon. It is fresh and does not have the fishy taste. I mean just look at the colour ! lol Definitely a MUST ORDER!
We simply ordered 5 plates that night! mad
California & Spicy tune roll $10 $9 respectively

California & Spicy tune roll $10 $9 respectively

is good but not that great for the value of its price.
Salmon Belly Shashimi $16

Salmon Belly Shashimi $16

Personally i like salmon more. We just ordered one portion of the belly to try. It is still as good as the salmon shashimi but due to personal preference, i like the normal salmon more.tongue
Prawn Tempura $18

Prawn Tempura $18

It is rather difficult to cook a good prawn tempura. You got to have the right amount of barter on that little tiny prawn. This is rather so so to me because i felt that it is not really that crispy.
Shiitake Tempura $15

Shiitake Tempura $15

Cheese Chicken Cutlet $12

Cheese Chicken Cutlet $12

If you like cheese, probably you will like this. With cheese fried together with the chicken, you get to taste both flavor at one bite. I expected something more cheesy and creamy but i guess this is more towards the "light cheese feel".
Nabe Yaki Udon $16

Nabe Yaki Udon $16

Another MUST-ORDER! Their udon is rather chewy and does not have the "flour" taste. The soup is delicious that you can simply drink it after your finish the udon. It is not that salty.
Calpis White $5

Calpis White $5

A light original flavored yogurt drink. They have other flavors as well, but we stick with the original one to play safe.

Another plus point of the place is that they provide free flow of green tea!

I guess the only downside will the price of the food. It is rather a bit too costly. sad
Afterall, it is surely a nice place for big gathering. I mean sometimes, you can afford to pamper yourself a bit.

Asari Soup w Ramen $7

Asari Soup w Ramen $7

If you love seafood, probably you will like this more than i do. The soup is filled with "seafood" taste. Personally i feel that it is quite okay but my friend loves it due to their soup base.
Tokyo Ramen $8

Tokyo Ramen $8

Shiok! 2nd Maki $16.8

Shiok! 2nd Maki $16.8

You can never get enough of their signature sushi;Shiok Maki! I mean unless you are forced to eat 100 plates of it at one go or you personally don't like raw salmon. I guess this is probably their best dish among all the ramen, BBQ or even sushi.
What's so brilliant about this sushi? EVERYTHING ON IT IS GOOD!! The orange sweet sauce brings out the freshness of the salmon. The rice is wrapped nicely that you can eat it in one mouth! Arggggg, talking about it makes me want to get a piece now.chopstick

oh yeah! They have two different types of maki; 1st gen and 2nd gen. 1st gen comes with eel while 2nd gen comes with fried ebi. Personally i like the one with ebi more but the 1st taste good as well !

I mean Shiok Maki is definitely a must try at least ONCE IN YOUR WHOLE LIFE despite the long Q sometimes!
It will be much smarter to make reservation beforehand at 91803850. It will save a lot of waiting time and hassle! smile

Oh yeahhhh, maybe you could grab any of your friends who have passion card or sakura members to get 10% off ! I mean who doesn't want to save money ! lol

Geylang is very famous for their frog porridge and also their zi char in some stores. However, you will always have a hard time finding parking lots. The place is rather inaccessible in term of public transport also.
Good news now is that you don't have to travel all the way to geylang to get frog porridge! You could get it at just serangoon area!
In addition, the place is absolutely nice for a chill out with beer after meal;windy and not very crowded. I guess the shop is still considered quite new.

The sotong is just nice in term of their texture. It is not overcook that will change the texture of their meat.

The meats are covered with the tasty sauce and definitely a fair match with the famous Geylang stores.
Sambal Stingray $12

A must-order in all zi char meal. It is a classic ! It was juicy and filled with suitable amount of sambal chilli !
lol

You can stay there as long as you want even after your meal ! They only opens in the evening time!

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Food Court | Dim Sum

I am always finding "the" chee cheong fun in Singapore. i wanted the taste of Hong Kong, not exactly the same but at least similar. And YESH ! I FOUND IT IN THIS HUMBLE KOPITIAM INSTEAD OF SOME DIM SUM RESTAURANT.
Chee Cheong Fun

Chee Cheong Fun

This is the best i have tasted so far. It is just different. The roll is freshly made on the spot hence you got to wait for a while. This crucial step has make the texture so different from those already pre-made roll in the usual wooden basket.

I believe that i can have 10 plates of this for lunch ! mad

Definitely coming back again !
