Lor mee Smile Mar 14, 2014
Categories : Coffeeshop | Noodles

This was my lunch today! I bought it early on my way home and left it there for almost one hour before I ate it. I thought the noodle was going to be very soggy but surprisingly, it turned out well. The noodle was still chewy and the gravy was still thick and starchy. I asked for extra vinegar as I love it sour. It tasted fragrant with the minced garlic. The lor mee was served with fish cake, ngor hiang, pork slices, cut chilli etc.

Summer roll OK Mar 14, 2014
Categories : Vietnamese

It was past dinner time and we were looking for some healthy snack. Fried stuff, oily stuff were certainly out of our option. So, we decided to have this summer roll at Pho Street.

The summer roll were wrapped in thin rice papers which allow you to get a sneak peek of the ingredients inside. There was one prawn in each roll, together with vermicelli and some vegetables. It tasted refreshing with the mint leaves. The summer roll was served with peanut sauce, which was rather bland. We actually prefer to have the roll to go with sourish sauces. Overall, it tasted fine.

Vegan burger OK Mar 09, 2014

Categories : American | Fast Food | Stall / Kiosk | Burgers and Sandwiches

I was up to some healthy meal today so I chose to have a vegan burger at Greenzilla.

I wanted to order royal mushroom burger, which comes with herbs bun but they had run out of it. So, I get to choose another bun to go with it.

The customized version of my royal mushroom burger - with charcoal bun instead. The burger was packed with the goodness of veggies and mushrooms. This is one of the few burgers that I can eat without feeling guilty, because it is so healthy! Personally, I love the tangy tartar sauce as I find the taste more complex compared to the normal version.

I was hoping to come back again, this time to try it with the herbs bun!

Mint mocha OK Mar 09, 2014

Categories : Italian

We were around Holland Village area to do some grocery shopping and decided to get some coffee from Da Paolo. Two of us was sharing a cup of coffee- mint mocha.

Our mint mocha ($6), with a heart shape latte art.

Mint Mocha

Mint Mocha

I am not a coffee fanatic but I usually expect coffee to be piping hot. This coffee was merely luke warm, which was my only complaint. Other than that, it was perfect. The sweetness was just right, and even though I don't usually like minty drink, the minty mocha somehow appeal to me. The lingering mint taste on the tongue give a refreshing after taste.

Curry in a bread OK Mar 09, 2014

Categories : Halal | Kids-Friendly

We got a golden pillow delivery!

No wonder it is called golden pillow, the bread is really huge.

Cutting open the bread, it was curry chicken wrapped inside a paper and plastic wrap.

I always like to eat curry with bread, so this is really all my favorites get packed into a single 'pillow'. We love the bread, it was so soft and fragrant. You get to enjoy the softness in every bite. The curry was not that spicy, so no worries for those who loves fragrant of the curry but cannot take spicy food. As for the chicken, it was tender and soft, but we felt that the essense and taste of the curry had not penetrated through the meat. Perhaps the chicken was not cooked long enough in the curry gravy.
