One afternoon we went to Long beach Dempsey for lunch. Because it is a casual lunch we did not order the famous crabs. the captain recommended the special tofu with seaweed powder which I find the taste quite weird. I have no idea what the mixed inside the Tofu which makes it taste like the tofu has gone bad. Than came the salted egg prawn which to my surprise it used salted egg whites instead of salted egg yolk to fried the prawns. I have never tasted this dish with egg whites. All restaurants use salted egg yolks. The whites makes the prawns very saltish and simply not edible. When we feedback to the captain. he said salted egg prawns is like that one ;( the fried kang kong is also quite disappointing. There are no sambal chillis in it only a few dry shrimps. The fried rice is fortunately "normal" but no surprise and not worth the value we are paying for. Total cost $90 for 2 pax.
Supplementary Information:
I am a regular at Long beach. But this experience have stop me from further visits.

Pork cutlet set

Pork cutlet set

Went for lunch at Tampopo luang court. I ordered the black pig katsu set. The set comes with   a black pig cutlet, salad, rice and misa soup. The cutlet used to be very juicy and thick, however this time it is thin and a bit dry And they don't provide saseme sauce, only the usual katsu sauce for sasem sauce I have to pay extra.  The pork cutlet is too lean with not much fats, does not taste like black pig at all. The rice is short grain authentic Japanese rice which is good. Overall, pretty ordinary. I spent $25++

This restaurant sells Japanese cuisine. It is semi buffet style. You can order a main course and there is a buffet with various side dishes, appetizers, desserts you can eat all you can. We are given a plate with 6 small square to fill with items from the buffet table. Which is quite cute. There are vegetables, salad, Goyza, takoyaki etc. we ordered the curry chicken and oyaku don for main. The curry chicken is not too spicy and comes in a claypot with lots of vegetables. The drumstick potion is big too. The oyaku don, comes in a hot plate. Contains chicken and and egg. Both main cones with rice. We spent $30 ++ overall quite satisfying meal however there can be room for improvement as some appetizers at the buffet are cold items which we are not very used to. Have more warm or hot item would be good. It can be quite crowded during lunch hour.

One quiet weekend afternoon I decided to bring my family out to lunch at TCC marina. The place is not as crowded as Prive Dowstairs which sells brunch. The restaurant have nice seats which faces the sea with private boats parked around there. We ordered beef stew, baked cod fish and kurobuta pork. The beef stew is very juicy and the meat is very tender, hence just right for my dad which have not much real teeth And have craving for beef.  The baked cod fish is very fresh and the skin is crispy. Pretty ordinary dish but  The portion is quite big too, as some restaurants cod portion is rather small. The kurobuta pork is grill to perfection. Tender and not dry. All the dishes comes with asparagus. I spent $$80++just that at times we need to fight for attention with the foreigners "ang mo" for the service, as preferrence seemed to given to serving foreigners.

Pork cutlet

Pork cutlet

This is a reasonably priced restaurant to have tonkatsu Most of their items are around $10++ if you want to order black pig will need to top up a few dollars more. The seats are like those food court seats. I ordered the Katsura with curry and rice . The pork cutlet is fried till golden brown and crispy but I find the meat cut too thin and t is a bit dry. Luckily I ordered curry which can help to soften the crust by dipping the cutlet in it. The rice they use are those long grain Japanese rice not the short grain ones. Overall edible for the price but not really fantastic
