Brunch for lunch @ Wild Honey  Smile Dec 30, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Café | Burgers and Sandwiches | Brunch

We had our Christmas lunch at Wild Honey because my friends and I always wanted to have brunch food and speaking of brunch food Wild Honey has got to be one of places famous for their all-day-breakfast.
When we reached there we had to wait for a while for we didn't make reservations. I thought Wild Honey didn't accept reservations and it seems that this policy only applies to the one at Mandarin Gallery. So remember to make reservations here if you don't like to be kept waiting.

I ordered a french toast with banana, mascarpone cheese and salted caramel. It was really good! The crust of the bread was coated with nuts and when I bit into it, it was sweet and crunchy. Although I'm really not a fan of caramel, this dish really tasted better with caramel. Without caramel, the dish seems to be lacking something. I love this french toast even though it cost me $22.

My friends had Basque which is brioche, prosciutto and scrambled eggs with red peppers and English which consisted of brioche, sausage, tomato, potatoes and scrambled egg. Both dishes were delicious as well. I tasted some components of English and I like it too.

Christmas Eve lunch!  Smile Dec 24, 2012

Categories : Spanish | Italian | High Tea

I'd been there once with my mum and the food was pleasant. Hence, we decided to head there for our lunch again.
We went there during the period where they offer lunch set meal from 1100-1400.
The lunch set meal includes soup of the day, the main course and choice of tea with prices starting from 12.90 bucks.

I tried a new item on the menu which was green tea spaghetti with shrimp. Yes, it is green tea flavoured spaghetti. I'm a lover of green tea and decided to gave it a try.
The soup of the day was pumpkin soup. I love pumpkin soup but the pumpkin was disappointing. I couldn't taste the richness and sweetness of pumpkin.
When the dish arrived, I was quite skeptical about it. The green coloured spaghetti looked interesting and it was served with fried mushroom, beef patty and a salad which consist of ham, pineapple and cucumber on the side.

My first bite literally blew my mind away. I can really taste the green tea!!! lol And it didn't taste weird at all. Like as though the dish was designed this way, nothing is wrong with it.
Even though I'm really not a fan of cream based spaghetti, this is really different. I love this dish. Not to mention that the sides were delicious as well. This set meal cost $15.90
I'm really very pleased with this dish because green tea normally points toward sweets, but this time round, I learnt that green tea fits perfectly well with savoury too. ^^

Fried Seafood Platter!  Smile Jul 15, 2012

Categories : American | Seafood | Halal | Kids-Friendly

It was my first time at The Manhattan Fish Market after reading some positive food reviews about Manhattan Fish Market. I was sat at next to the glass panel and the whole skating rink was in my line of vision. How lucky I am smile

There have this seafood platter promotion for 2 pax and 4 pax. If you order the promotion platter they have 2 complimentary soup of the day and garden salad. They also have a 1-for-1 promotion for their mocktails and 50% off any sides.
We ordered the fried platter for 2 despite having 3 pax. The fried platter includes fried fish nuggets, shrimps, calamari and fried country mushrooms, served on a bed of Garlic Herb Rice and chips with broccoli and carrots.
As we are afraid insufficient food to go around, we ordered another pasta - chick oglio.

The fried platter was surprisingly very good! lol It was the best fried seafood I had ever eaten in my life. The fish was very crispy on the outside and tender and moist inside. It didn't have the unwanted fishy smell. The rest of platter tasted as good as the fish too! The french fries were very tasty too! It was the thick and fat fries instead of those skinny ones. Best fries I'd ever eaten! In conclusion: the seafood platter is impeccable. ^0^

Although Manhattan Fish Market serves mostly seafood, I must say that their chicken aglio oglio was also very delicious. The chicken wasn't overcooked and it was tender and succulent. The spaghetti wasn't too oily and it was perfect aglio oglio I am looking for! lol Found the aglio oglio of my life, it had a strong black pepper taste, not too oily, the spaghetti was also springy and not overcooked.

Well, the garden salad was normal. Nothing to be excited about.
For the mocktails, we ordered the ruby ___ *i forgot the name* and cala cala. I prefer cala cala as it was a little sour and more refreshing. It was also compatible with the fried food I'd eaten, helps to clear my oily palate tongue. The ruby drink was too sweet for my liking and it tasted like bandung. shocked

After finishing the meal, my conclusion was, I would definitely want to go back to Manhanttan Fish Market again! lol

Lunch @ Food for Thoughts  Smile Apr 04, 2013

I had read a lot of reviews about this cafe and finally I'm here to judge for myself.

I ordered full works to share with my friend. I love all the components of Full Works especially the mushrooms, hashbrown and scrambled eggs. Mushrooms were juicy flavoursome, hashbrown was round, cute and crunchy and the scrambled eggs were fluffy. But be warn that unless you have a big appetite Full Works is better to be shared because the portion is astonishing!

Red velvet cake is the must order! It is da bomb! One of the best red velvet cake I have eaten so far! Thick and rich in chocolate.
We order butterscotch crumble and cheese baked brownie. Both were fabulous~ These desserts and cakes were really so good that we can't stop scraping them off the plate even though we were full from the mains.

A cosy cafe for catching up with friends, I bet I will come here again smile

brunch @ Mu Parlour  Smile Apr 04, 2013

Mu Parlour is a very cosy and quaint cafe located above Thai Express. The ambience was very nice and is a perfect place for meet ups with friends for a long chat or dates.

I had Eggs any style which consisted of scrambled eggs, brioche, rocket salad and garlic fries. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and complemented the brioche well. The fries were shoestring fries and were crispy and fragrant when eaten together with the garlic.
The cappuccino was very good, it was one of the cappuccino I have ever drank. ;)
