Sweet Potato Fritter

Sweet Potato Fritter

I can't believe nobody has given a review for this snack stall! shocked What's stopping?! Their FRITTERS are SOLID!!!!!!!! mad

The golden yellow fritters are so eye-catching that it'll take effort (and determination) to walk away without buying a snack (especially so after meals)! lol Once again, I was "sucked" to the front of the stall and did my usual "browsing". tongue This time round, they've started "Self-Service", where you pick your own snack, pack it and pay! I can't recall if it was the same in the past but I think it's a bother, especially when you have indecisive customers (only for fried food!!!) like me, who will pick out an item, then browse, then pick out another...on and on. tongue

Anyway, back to the food! lol I got myself a Sweet Potato Fritter this time round! lol Muahahahaha!! It was awesome!! mad The frilly bits were light and crispy (likened to tempura style in Japan)! mad If it weren't for the darn calories, I'd go for a 2nd, and a Banana Fritter, and maybe a Fried Yam Cake or something...tongue

Fried Food always seem to satisfy that last percentage in the stomach that Main Courses can't fill...like desserts...tongue

Wanton Noodles

Wanton Noodles

Passed by this stall 1 wkend lunchtime, and the uncle called out to me. This is not 1 of the popular stalls for Wanton Noodles, as there were other stalls selling the same dish in this hawker centre. Since I had nothing in mind, and fate has led me to this stall, I thought I might just order something to try. smile

What a pleasant surprise! lol For $3, the Wanton Noodles was really good! lol The bright red char siew pieces caught my eye instantly when served, and how sweet they tasted!!! mad Yummy!!! lol The noodles were also "QQ", and if you like pork lard pieces, there was sure a fair bit of them in there! smile Delicious!!! lol

My only gripe would be the miserable serving of vegetables, but oh well, who eats Wanton Noodles for its vegetables??? tongue Just order a side plate of vegetables (available at the stall too) to go with it to make a wholesome meal! smile

Oh, there were 3 Wantons (forgotten to take pic of the soup! tongue) in the soup, and they tasted good too! smile

Will I return? U bet! tongue

Black Pepper Japanese Curry Chicken w Rice

Black Pepper Japanese Curry Chicken w Rice

Decided to give this special dish a try - Black Pepper Japanese Curry Chicken w Rice!

Nothing special. sad The black pepper kind of diluted the sweetness in the Japanese Curry, and I would have preferred the latter in full version. The saving grace was that the drumstick was fairly meaty. I would be rather annoyed if it didn't fill me well.

One dish I would highly recommend would be their Truffle Fries. Ordered this 2nd time round (and I've only been to this outlet twice!). Delicious! lol Worth every calorie in them! Hahaha! tongue

Bak Chor Mee

Bak Chor Mee

This was the BEST Bak Chor Mee (vinegar style) I've eaten!!! mad Before I write this review, I've already returned for a 2nd fix! tongue

There's always a short queue at the stall during wkday lunchtimes, but I never have to wait long for my turn. Forget the healthy soup version and healthy option of Fishball Noodles, as the Bak Chor Mee (dry) would blow your mind, like it did to mine! mad It might looked little, but I assure you that the serving was just right. There were pork slices, minced pork and even a fried wanton (not much meat in it or none!)! You'll have no wanton if you ordered the soup version! shocked

I can't describe further how good this dish was, but would urge all Bak Chor Mee lovers to check this stall out!!! lol

Bak Chor Mee - $3+

I've purchased a Streetdeal coupon $5 for $20 and purchased $60 worth (I should have purchased more! sad).

First time here and I liked it instantly! lol The staff was extremely polite and delivered great service! lol

My family and I ordered the following items:

Fish Head Curry
Going at $20+, this is a MUST! tongue It was non-spicy, curry was sufficently thick and there was a huge slab of fish head! Real full from eating this, without rice!

Prawns in Almond Curry
Going at $17+, I did find this dish pricey, since the serving was rather small. But there were almost 8 prawns in it, no other side ingredients though! I LOVED this curry most!!! mad It was so good and creamy (and sweet!!! mad), that I literally "drank" most of it! tongue I would LOVE to have a serving of this curry like that served for Fish Head Curry!!! tongue It would simply go with EVERYTHING, even as spread on bread!!! tongue

Butter Chicken
Having tasted the Almond Curry above, this dish did paled in comparison. sad Moreover, it was served as chicken chunks. Would be much better if it was served as huge Chicken Drumsticks! Haha! tongue

Butter Naan
I've never tasted Naan before, and I'd say it's good! lol Probably because it's Butter Naan! Haha! What does it go best with? ALMOND CURRY! Hahaha! tongue

We ended up having to top up $20-$40 more on top of the coupons I've purchased earlier. If they could lower the price, I'd return. Now I have to wait for another online deal to eat my fill! sad

Btw, there were some little confetti-lookalike stuff at the entrance, which my bro said was candy. I tasted some of it, and I felt like a ghost instantly. Know why? I felt like i've just eaten joss sticks! tongue Haha! Yeah, it's something like that!
