Sarang OK Mar 19, 2013
Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Kids-Friendly

Had my dinner with my girlfriend at Sarang last weekend. As it was still early, not much crowd .

Yu zi Drink - Cool and refreshing

Side dishes - consist of kimchi, sauteed peanut.

- Marinated Beef - Served on a hot pan, but to my disappointment, it was quite cold when it was served.

Korean vermicelli - Very well cooked. One of the best dishes here.

Seafood Pan Cake - Quite a huge portion and was filled with seafood.

Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup - Definitely not the best that i had. Too blend.

The Sushi Bar Smile Mar 18, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi

Hidden on the 3rd floor of far east plaza, it was quite hard to find this small Japanese restaurant. But to my surprise, it was quite crowded during lunch time.

Unagi Don - Grilled Unagi with sweet sauce served with japanese rice and shredded egg. Tasted good but the only bad thing is that the portion is quite small.

California Roll - 8 pieces of roll filled with crabsticks, avocado and salmon dice.

2nd visit Smile Mar 17, 2013

This is the 2nd time i visited this place for lunch. Think they had refurbished the place but still , doesnt seem to have extra seats as it was still crowded during lunch time.

Fried Thai Tang Hoon - Quite a big serving. Fried with seafood, the tang hoon was quite spongy and tasted quite well

Seafood Tom Yam Soup - Not much of seafood. Mostly fishballs, crab meat stick and 2 prawns. However, the soup is very nice and fragrant. I guess i cant expect much as it only cost me $5.

Authentic Thai Food OK Mar 15, 2013
Categories : Thai

After hearing quite abit about Nakhon's great tasting Thai food, decided to give it a try.

When we got there, there was not much of a queue but one promptly formed after we were seated, so I'm glad we got there when we did.

We ordered the clear tom yum soup, green mango salad, kang kong and the jungle curry.

The dishes:

Green mango salad - tasted quite fresh but too sour for me. ( although i understand from my friends that it supposed to taste this way)

Clear tom yum soup (chicken) - tasty without being overly spicy.

Kang kong - This was a good tasting dish as well

Jungle curry (beef) - Not Bad , but can be better

Overall for the price that i am paying, it is quite a good meal.

Ramen Champion Smile Mar 13, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen

It was my 1st time patronizing Ramen Champion. The concept was quite interesting whereby there are around 8 Ramen Stalls ( different varieties of ramen ) for you to choose from. Upon entering the premises, you will be given a card which will be recording your purchases ( kind of remind me of marche)

After walking a few rounds, decided to try out the ramen from Bario.

Char Siew Ramen - The soup was very thick and quite oily. It was also full of garlic taste. The noodle to my surprise was not the usual noodle that we normal see in ramen. It was the kind of flat, thick yellow noodle. the Char siew was very tender but fatty.
