DIY pancakes! OK Jul 28, 2013
Categories : Café | Desserts and Cakes | Burgers and Sandwiches | Brunch

We went for the DIY pancakes buffet that lasted from 3pm to 6pm! Kids-$8, Students-$10, Adults-$12, GST not inclusive.

There’s quite a few flavours for the batter to choose from, original buttermilk, pandan, strawberry, chocolate etc but we choose the original one and pandan one! There’s butter and chocolate sauce on the table already, so the rest of the toppings you have to walk to the front and take it using the small metal cups/bowls to choose! Anyway there's not much toppings to choose from since it's only $10+.

We were so excited to get started so our first few shapes were rather normal like circles before we really started doodling. And one of the staff asked us if we want to take a photo!! smile

We finished the two bottles of batter quite fast though. So we asked for refill. When we said to refill both, I think the person was rather sceptical that we can finish the next 2. Should have listened though because we ate until very full. Anyway the heat of the stove is adjustable, so don’t wory about burning your pancakes, because apparently they never will. We turned up the heat but we still had some time to take photos of what we doodled.

Overall, the food is not exceptional because it's just pancakes. But the fun bit is that you get to do it yourself and you don't have to clean up the mess! One tip though, come arm with your own water, unless you're willing to pay for the free flow water for $1!

Spending per head: Approximately $11(Tea)

Laksa Smile Jul 28, 2013

Was shopping for some sports apparel at night and went to have katong laksa as supper after that! I've previously tried it at the katong outlet and was really liked the fact that one can just use a spoon to eat it! I got my laksa relatively fast after ordering!

I can't take much spicy food so I did not mix my soup with the chilli given. But nevertheless, I still like it a lot because the gravy is so nice! But I found the gravy to be a little diluted though. Even though it's late at around 9pm, but there's still a lot of people who come by to try the laksa!

salmon belly curry OK Jul 28, 2013

Went to MOF for dinner and decided to order japanese curry! I ordered Salmon Belly Curry ($13.80) because I really love jap curry a lot and I wanted a change from my usual beef curry. But this one was abit disappointing though, the amount of salmon wasn’t enough for me, and I had to keep rationing it! There's not enough curry for me as well too although the curry was rather thick. One good thing was that the salmon was boneless, so don't worry about having to pick for the bones! My salmon belly curry does not come with rice, so I got a bowl of rice for $1.50! Most of the mains don’t come with rice too. Iced water costs $0.30 as well.

Service on a whole was relatively okay, and take note to make payment at the counter yourself! I paid $18.4 for my own food which I thought was rather steep as I did not even feel full at all!

Nice hotdog bun Smile Jul 28, 2013

Categories : Fast Food

I always had to get the hotdog bun when I'm at ikea because it's just so good!! For $1.50, there's the hotdog bun and one cup of drink which is refillable. The hotdog bun is really good and the bread is soft. The queue moves relatively fast as we're supposed to fill up the drinks ourselves with the cup given. They have curry puffs and donuts as well. And chicken wings, which are really good too, 6 for $7.50 or 2 for $3 with a cup of drink. You can add your own sauce (chilli, tomato, or mustard) at the sauce station!

Fish soup Smile Jul 28, 2013
Categories : Food Court | Noodles

Went for dinner at the food court at around 5pm to avoid the crowd and found a seat quite easily! It was a cooling day so I decided to settle for something soupy and healthy!

Got this fish soup ($4.80) which was a relatively huge bowl plus a huge bowl of rice ($0.70). At first I was sceptical about it because it's quite expensive but after eating for a long time, I realised that $5.50 is really worth it! I must have eaten at least 15 slices of fish! And the size of one slice is not small either. There's tofu, seaweed, tomatoes and a good amount of vegetables in it as well. The ikan bilis were crunchy although I prefer bigger ones! The soup was well cooked, very light and it really whets my appetite upon the first sip! I had more than enough fish to finish up my huge bowl of rice! smile
