BBQ! Smile Apr 16, 2013

Categories : Korean | BBQ

One thing I like about Oh Neul Han Jeom is that it doesnt really stink as much as other korean restaurants with bbq option. That is one thing I am really scared of, to leave a restaurant with my hair stink of the heavy bbq smoke smell. OMHJ uses a technique called Infra Red BBQ, which minimized the amount of smoke while u are bbq-ing the food.

Quality of the food is good too, and fresh. You will not missed the freshness and well marination of the meat. Though a bit pricey and they doesn't have the buffet menu (ala carte only!), I think it is worth it for the fact u are getting back the quality of the food not quantity.

Try their magic cup filled with Korean beer! Definitely will blast you off on how refreshing and light it taste.

wonton mee! Smile Apr 15, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Hawker Centre

Tried out this long queue wonton mee to see what's so special about this wonton mee (everytime when I passby the queue will be very long, esp during peak hours). Waited for about 20 minutes in the queue. Order a $3 wonton mee and it comes with a few slices of char siew meat and 2 wontons which is put separately in the soup bowl.

I like how springy the noodles is. Even though there's a queue, they managed to maintain the noodles quality and not making it too hard or soft. It was really just nice. The charsiew is nice too, not too much fat and is soft. Wonton wise was pretty normal.

If you love quality food and dont mind to wait, u might want to try this next time when u are around Tiong Bahru Market.

BURGERS OK Apr 15, 2013

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Restaurant | Burgers and Sandwiches

Was craving for some authentic US burgers so we decided to drive by Fatboy's at Pasir Panjang. There's a public carpark right beside the place so it's not difficult to find a parking space though the shop is facing the big road. There's a bus stop right infront so it is still accessible to reach the place.

As usual, was spoil with choices of the different kinds of burgers served there. Decided to order their "Whimpy" Burger and "The Jamaican Me"

The whimpy burger (beef) is the smaller version of their fat bastard. Specially opt for the honey oat bun instead of the usual sesame bun. Turn out the bun is too hard to bite (haha) and i still prefer the sesame bun in the end. There's also a frying egg and bacon to go with the burger.

I prefer the Jamaican me. Consist of a pork patty, coslaw and bacon. Their patty is very salty though, but it's still moist for the pork patty.

Overall i still prefer swensen's burger compare to fat boy's.

dessert Smile Apr 15, 2013

Nothing will goes wrong for a late night dessert with Ice Cream. Went over to Udders @ Novena after our dinner for some ice cream dessert. Love the varieties of flavors offered there and we took quite a bit of time to decide which flavors to get. Finally decided to get their earl grey's and Baileys' to go with their freshly baked waffles. Their earl grey tasted damn solid - definitely not stingy about the amount of tea leaves they put in. Same goes with the bailey's - one can definitely be 'drunk' if had too much of it. As for the waffles, it is fluffy and warm and goes very well with the 2 scoops of ice cream. However, the air inside their shop can get a little warm and hot.

yakitori Smile Apr 10, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Steaks and Grills

Visited Nanbantei @ Far East for our team lunch. since it is my first time visiting to this place, I decided to play safe and order their yakitori set bento lunch (consist of 2 pork, 2 chicken, 1 quail egg, rice, mushroom and seaweed) Their yakitori is cook nicely, just that I thought it will be better if there's more yakitori sauce on the meat and rice. Also order the salmon nabe hot pot to share. I love the taste of the soup - it was so flavorful with the taste of salmon meat. Also ordered the grilled squid, quite overpriced though it was enough to share among 4-5 people.

the place is quite small and crampy so if you are going there in a big group, reservation is high recommended.
