Good burger and great fries! OK Sep 23, 2015

lollol I searched from Google the best burger in town and it's one of them in several listing and it didn't let me down!  It serves good gourmet burger and I ordered Juicy Lucy.

The bread is soft and the other ingredients matched well with the bread and the patty.  Just that the patty is not as juicy as I thought as I already ordered medium.  Probably the chef wants to ensure that its cooked.

It's served with salad and it's awesome.  Fries are really great as they are crispy, not too salty, and soft inside and not oily.

We also ordered tuna melt sandwich and it tastes good with the fries underneath.  Just that if they have slightly more tuna it'd be better.

Clam chowder is above average and it's of very big portion.  Just slightly too oily on the surface.  Taste is right and the texture is appropriate and it won't be too thick.  Girls please think twice about having this before your burger.

Service is good and attentive.  Very enjoyable evening.

lollollol Luxe opened this first branch outside Sydney.  I haven't been to its Sydney outlet but I do feel traces of Australia style here, simple and clean decoration, but with traces of luxury atmosphere.  It's quite comfy to have dinner there.  The food is quite good and with its boldness in trying to integrating some Southeast flavour to its Australian cuisine, such as the one I ordered Grilled Octopus with XO sauce, and raw fish appetizer.  These are good try yet it could be better, like grilled octopus could be stir fry to make the taste more exciting.  It's signature dish Luxe Burger is interesting as its served with squid ink made bread.  Fries aside are good, but the patty could be more juicy.  In general it's ok and good to come again, particularly the service level is high.

chopstickbowl Food centre always gives an image of grassroot and cheap eats.  Palette tried to transform it to a classy environment in this new Capitol Piazza mall.

The food are more than ok, although still have a small gap with the best hawkers market local food,  it has done its best to combine itself with the classy environment around it.  I tried Hokkien Mee, bakuteh, dim sum and double boiled soup.  All are good with some improvement areas: the meat of bakuteh is soft and very tender, and the cartridge is easily crushed, while the soup is too salty.  Dim sum are good in terms of taste, but the chef should fill more egg custard in the egg tarts.  Good poached choy sum.  Hokkien Mee is with good taste, but the prawns were frozen and thus the meat doesn't have good texture.  Double boiled soup is good,  good and big piece of fish maw.

What's missing are Teh C and Kopi C which are not available here... sad

The service is v good.  It's a food centre with waiters and waitresses and they have been doing a good job here!

lolThe ambience is relaxing and you could enjoy your weekend there.  The selection of food on the menu is appropriate.  We had market salad and Eggs Benedict, together with coffees.  Market salad is good with fresh veggie, but the bacon should be fried on the spot because we think the bacon was not so freshly fried.   Eggs Benedict is ok but we expected slightly more as on the menu it says that there's a twist... However it's quite good actually.

I could certainly be a place to visit again for a relaxing brunch over weekends.

Authentic Japanese Italian Cafe Smile Apr 25, 2016
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Italian | Japanese

A Japanese friend told me in Japan there are authentic western cuisines and adopted Japanese western cuisine, and Nigiro is the latter and it carried itself a really nice way as a Japanese Western cafe.

It's detailed in taste and presentation of food brought you to Japan. The place is cosy and at the end of the corridor of this Japanese food court. Also it gives a great balance of the taste... Just like the salad the cheese would never be overwhelming and you could still feel the freshness of the leaves, and the fruit tart is not overly sweet but you could feel the juiciness in the fruits.

Ambience is great as if you're in Japan... The colour tone of the coffee shop is light, tidy and warm, with some pictures of Singapore made you feel the existence of the willingness of adaptation to this lion city.
