Crystal grade dim sum Smile Mar 18, 2011

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum

Went Crystal Jade @ GWC for lunch this afternoon with my colleagues.. Lunch was "fantabulous" and all of us enjoyed it.

We ordered a lot of food today and i feel "obligated" to recommend some of the highlights:

1. Rice Roll with Shrimp - Best Rice Roll that I have ever eaten in Singapore. I love the soft, smooth texture of the rice roll wrapped around the sweet shrimp and drench with tasty sauce. It just "melts" in my mouth.

2. Plain Noodle Soup - Simplicity is the best... Springy noodles with green vegetables in hot pork bone broth taste awesome.

3. Baby Kailan with Oyster Sauce - Fresh, Juicy, Crunchy and Healthy. Yummy!

4. Ginseng Soup - What a nourishing n rejuvenating soup! This is a "must try" soup. Very flavourful, chockful of ingredients. The stock is pretty powerful, almost like chicken essence.

5. Mango Pudding - Sweet delicate smooth texture. The delicate flavour of mango pudding makes it a popular finale after every meal.

This new restaurant located in Sentosa is really worth giving it a try... Nice ambience...

What I really loved most:

1. Hamachi Tatare (Ikura Egg Salad wrapped with pickled japanese cucumber surrounded with orange miso dressing)

2. Seafood Pot Au Feu (Poached Seafood, Asparagus, Porcini)

3. Red Dragon Granita

This is truly an amazing place!
I love it!!!!

I love the sweet prawn and salmon sashimi....Yummy!
It's a type of Hong Kong Japanese food...
They have a number of new varieties that you cant find in other Japanese restaurants.. (e.g. mini cup rice)

I love the food here and will be back for sure :-)

Big Juicy Prawns  Smile Mar 17, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Hawker Centre

As usual, I will head down to Lavender food court every Wednesday for supper after my night class without fail... The prawn noodles is one of the "must have dish" in my list every time when i'm here.

I simply love prawns! Hence whenever I see a store selling prawn noodle, i will go for it. And I have created my own list of "best" prawn noodles in Spore.
And apparently this store has made it to my list!

I love the clay-pot prawn noodles soup. Serving in a clay-pot gives the "sizzling, hot boiling" effect and makes the food look more appetizing. The jumbo juicy prawns is the key especially the prawn head. The juice simply ooze out when you "suck" it... Yummy!
Not forgetting the essence of the broth which is cooked with a lot of prawn heads and pork bone in it, whereby the taste lingers in your mouth even after you finish it.

For those who like it spicy, top it with lots of chilli powder and pair it with sambal chilli... the result: Fanstastic... *lick thumb*....

I strongly recommend that you try it if you are there.

Fantastic local fare Smile Mar 25, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Café

I love to have local fare for my brunch every Sunday with my boyfriend after our church session.

This is "THE" place for us... Authentic and yummy local fare...
The most "popular" food for both of us would be:

1. Nasi Lemak

Fragrant Coconut Rice topped with lots of crispy ikan bilis, peanuts, and a juicy soft sunny side up egg. What I love best was their crispy fried chicken and of course not forgetting the delicious spicy sambal chilli...

2. Laska topped with extra cockles
Thick gravy paired with big soft "tau pok" and extra cockles really make the entire trip to this place worth it...

3. Ice Milo
Lastly, this is the drink that I must have when I am here...
The milo is very thick with reasonable amount of ice, hence the milo is not diluted at all....and it is GOOD!!!!

Good food that is value for money.
