Fish and Chips Smile Jul 25, 2013

Categories : Food Court | Pasta

I was here at 11am so there weren't too many people. mainly tourists and people who work around the area probably. We ordered the Fish And Chips. The staff was friendly, but the fish and chips took 20 minutes understandably I assume to start the heat on the deep fryer.

It was worth the wait! The oil is definitely fresh since I think I'm the first customer eventually leading people who walked past my table to order the same and got their fish'n'chips at a much faster speed. Fish was fresh and soft inside, crispy golden brown out. The chips too. Coleslaw was refreshing and perfect companion to the dish overall. Great presentation making it visually appealing.

Taiwan Porridge Smile Jul 24, 2013

Categories : Taiwanese | Porridge/Congee

Changi Road can be quiet at nights but there's quite a number of food options from day to night as long as you have a convenient mode of transport or live in the area smile

We come here to eat at night quite often. It's nice, quiet and not too crowded. Here, we ordered: Hainanese Pork Chop, Porridge, Braised Pork, Marmite Chicken. The staff are very friendly helpful and patient, they are quite attentive to my refill requests for porridge.

The pork chop was perfectly cooked and crisp on the outside paired off nicely with fries and sweet chilli dip sauce. Porridge has sweet potatoes in it and it's refillable for as many you can eat. Braised Pork went really well with the porridge, it's soft and almost melts in the mouth. Marmite chicken is a favourite for me because the sauce and the tenderness of the chicken is sweetly addictive!

Hoshino Coffee OK Jul 24, 2013

Hoshino Coffee is a real nice place with nice front decors, has nice sophisticated feel. The business is very good and you often have to queue due to the limited seats and overwhelming crowd.

One of the staff was not adequate in the seating arrangement for me and my partner as he was not flexible enough to seat us at a table meant for 4. However, we realized there was another couple seated at a table for 4, this unfair treatment made me quite angry. We waited for 20 mins when we could have been seated already. Finally, a manager came around to seat us.

When I placed my order, the same staff told us it would take 45 minutes, which is really too inefficient! I timed to make sure no more than that. I think the manager put us on higher priority after he saw that we were quite irritated by the waiting. Impressively, all our orders were served within 16 minutes. Upon finishing my meal, I shook hands with the manager and thank him for the good save. This is a rare sight of a responsible person in the F&B line.

We ordered the Pancake with Chocolate Banana and French Toast. 16 minutes was faster than promised with zero compromise on the taste. The toast was perfect and the creamy ice-cream was created with fresh ingredients. Flawless and very impressive. The initial wait of 30 minutes was made good by the efforts of the manager.

With the new extensions of Plaza Singapura, this place has become much more interesting to shop/walk at.

Dessert Smile Jul 18, 2013

A short walking distance away from Buona Vista MRT, 1 Caramel @ Rochester offers sweet desserts. It can be rather quiet and romantic on weekdays, but may get crowded on weekends. I like the polite and friendly staff there. I can never get enough of their desserts, not only appealing to the eyes it also scratches the itching sweet spot! These are some of the desserts that I tried:

You should try it too!

Laksania Smile Jan 29, 2013   (Related Review)

This is really a lousy location for those who dont live around here. mainly double yellow line parking for those who drive.
The ambience is quite nice and quiet, indoor aircon and outdoor for the smokers
The restaurant deco has a clean modern layout. The staff was friendly and attentive.
After eating the laksas, there's the option of cakes by "Secret Recipe".

I loved loved the laksa goreng, the noodles was fried really well and the portion was generous. the prawns are fresh and the chilli that was paired with totally added the great punch in the overall experience.
Satay with Laksa Dip! It was damnn good, perfectly grilled satay presented with style on a classy plate.

Love this place.

Total cost : $12.10
