Located within heritage-inspired walls of InterContinental Hotel, Man Fu Yuan has launched its selection of prosperity set menus, which will be available till 22 Feb. This year, Executive Chef Kwan Yiu Kan brings to the table a nourishing Double-boiled Bird’s Nest with Conch, Bamboo Pith and Cordyceps alongside the 18-ingredient Deluxe Treasures Pot (pictured) from the Deluxe Treasures Set ($688++ for 5 pax). For larger groups seeking a more extravagant feast, go for the Premium 8-course Set ($2,088++ for 10 pax) featuring a lavish Braised 5-head South African Abalone. In the heart of Orchard, there’s no forgetting Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant in Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. This year, the award-winning establishment is helmed by a new Executive Chef, Brian Wong, who has won several awards himself. 4. Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant

How about heralding the Year of the Monkey at a revolving restaurant? Seven Lunar New Year set menus will be available at the iconic Prima Tower this year. Each menu starts off with a Prosperity Yu Sheng before classic dishes such as Authentic Barbecued Peking Duck, Sautéed King Prawn in Rice Wine Sauce and Braised Pig’s Trotters with Fish Maw & Fatt Choy in Claypot takes the lime light. For vegetarians, eating out for the festive period can be quite challenging and limiting with the lack of options out there. Over at Eight Treasures Vegetarian Restaurant, their three Chinese New Year set menus comprise dishes like Thai Style Vegetarian Cod Fish, Yam Ring with Golden Nuggets (pictured), Ginseng Vegetarian Chicken with Chestnut and Sharks’ Fin with White Fungus & Wolfberries. In place of the usual flour used in mock meats, 8 Treasures executes their dishes much in an art form by using konjac for sharks’ fin, while wheat and soybean is used to create the cod fish and is wrapped with seaweed to mimic that textured fish skin. Take a different route this Chinese New Year by dining at mezza9 in Grand Hyatt, where Chinese classic dishes are prepared with sustainably-sourced seafood. You can either choose from Chef Lee Kwang Seng’s repertoire of dishes from the a la carte menu, such as the steamed South Patagonian Tooth Fish Fillet with black fungus, mushrooms, wolf berries and Chinese herbs ($42.00++) or enjoy this same dish in a three-course set menu ($88++ per person), amongst two other dishes – ‘Double Happiness and Good Luck’ Sustainable Yu Sheng (pictured) and Glutinous Rice Balls in Water Chestnut Soup.
