We had a group gathering to celebrate my friend A's birthday! All of us known each other since sec school times The birthday girl wanted to go to this place ( Amirah's Grill Classic) to eat. It's my first time eating there. The place had a very middle east feel. In total we order lamb kebab, chicken kebab, lamb chop, salmon and chicken beef lamb kebab. The birthday girl ordered lamb kebab since she likes lamb. Her best friend ordered lamb chop which i find quite big a portion. Surprisingly they said that the lamb here's quite well done, no the fishy lamb smell / taste at all. Since i didn't dare try lamb, i took the chicken kebab which's nice too. Its very nicely grilled. I can taste the spices in it too making it fragrant tasting! My friend had the salmon steak that she likes too, very nicely grilled she says. My the other friend had the combo of chicken beef lamb kebab. She tried them and likes them all though she finds the beef abit tough. Overall i would recommend to try this place if you never had middle east food before, you'll be surprise that they taste quite good too continue reading

1st time trying middle east food and is better than i expected... the pita was nice & humus was good too... i was worried abt the taste when i 1st saw the texture of humus but it tasted good... the grill seafood platter was nice and with big portion... the dessert isnt exactly wat i like coz is abit too sweet but on the whole.. the food r nice... however the place is alittle small, so only good for small group of friends continue reading

Along Arab Street , there are quite a number of restaurants / food places offering Turkish cuisine. It was a tough decision to decide which restaurant to visit. Well, I had tried a few of them – Alaturka, Cafe Le Claire, Deli Moroccan and now the 4th one- Amirah’s Grill.Typical Turkish cuisine – Kebabs , Hummus, Tabuuli , Grilled kofta… pita bread. I was attracted to the $9.90 ++ buffet instead.Mini Buffet set -upWhat can you expect from a $9.90 ++ buffet? There wasn’t much selection but it’s enough to satisfy your hungry tummy.Buffet selections( food changes daily):- Soup ( veg & chicken)- Sliced Beef- Roast chicken- Dory in lemon sauce- Stir-fried kangkong- Arabian Rice/ White rice- Banana cake- BananasThese are what they offer for the buffet, well like a typical malay food stall…Roast chicken, dory fish, kangkong & arabic riceI helped myself to try a small serving of various dishes. They were acceptable, nothing to shout about. However, the arabian rice was fragrant & fluffy , each grain of rice is infused with the strong aroma of herbs/ spices . ….. I enjoyed it.Verdict: For a $9.90++ buffet , I have nothing to complain/ fuss about. The food was just acceptable but at least, I walked out of the restaurant with a satisfied stomach. continue reading
