Introduction
A household name in Singapore, Bengawan Solo is synonymous with traditional cakes and kueh made using the highest quality ingredients and time-honoured methods of preparation. Special occasions are not the same without Bengawan Solo’s signature treats such as Kueh Lapis Sagu (rainbow layer cake), Ondeh Ondeh (coconut-coated glutinous rice balls filled with molten palm sugar), Kueh Lapis (spiced layer cake), and butter cakes and cookies. Knowing travellers often buy a box of these delectable cakes to enjoy on their plane journeys, or as tasty gifts for friends back home.

Usually when my foreign friends come to visit me at singapore, i will usually buy the.traditional pandan cake for him or her tobring back to their countries. The cake is very soft and light in texture. It is.not too sweet and the natural flavour from the pandan leaves certainly has enhanced this sponge cake. Great to have it with a cup of hot beverages such as coffee, milo or tea willbe ideally tasty.

My mum brought this box of 2 egg tarts for my little niece since she felt like eating one, and at night, Bengawan Solo is the only few places still selling egg tarts - those in the market would probably have already closed for the day. These egg tarts are more expensive than those sold in the market/bakeries in my opinion, since it is $1.20 per tart. My little niece finished the whole piece very happily though, but not for me, since I found the egg custard a little too sweet for my liking.
