A cosy restaurant located along East coast rd. I love the service & ambience of this restaurant. The staffs are very service oriented and very friendly. Saw me taking photos of my family. One of the staff was so nice that he offered to help us take a group photo. appreciate the kind gesture. The food here is very fresh. I love the fish and chips here. It is well prepared and you can tell that it is very fresh. Unlike some restaurant that uses frozen fish and you can tell it when you eat the fish. They also give a generous amount of fries. Love the salad & the dressing. Very well done. Price is quite reasonable. It is a nice restaurant for family gathering as there are not much customers (thus, it is not rowdy). continue reading

I went to try out big fish restaurant with my girlfriend. we each order a pasta each, I ordered the squid ink linguine with grilled squid. It was very delicious. simply love the black ink that coated the linguine. It is so flavourful. The grilled squid is grilled perfectly, not too tough. My girlfriend ordered the spaghetti vongole. The amount of clams is indeed a lot. the white wine sauce taste so good, I keep pinching from her plate. continue reading

The fish and chip is above average than those you get at the western food stall. You get 2 pieces of lightly batter fish sitting on a pile of crispy French Fries. The batter coating is thin and crispy and the fish inside is moist. Salad was crunchy lettuce serve with vineger. We were given 2 sauces which is sweet chillies with lime taste and mayonnaise with bits of onion to go with the fish.We order Earl Grey Tea and Ice Apple Tea to go with our meal which came to a total of slightly less than $26, if not it would normally cost $42.Prices are generally on the high side if you order ala cart, as main starts from $16 for fish and chip to $29 for Grilled Cod and Salmon. For Lobster Thermidor the price is $59. This does not include appetizer or dessert or drink. You can easily spent $50 per head. Better to opt for set meals. They also offer a 4 course daily set lunch for $16 including coffee/tea. The 4 course daily set dinner is $31. You can top up $1.50 for a glass of soft drink.Basically this is a western style seafood joint like those in Australia or USA where the fish and seafood is cooked in western style. continue reading

I was never a fan of fish because I was choked by fish bones twice when I was younger. I had to dine at Fish & Co a few times as I needed to attend some lunch and dinner gatherings but was never impressed with the food there. One day, a customer of mine wanted to have fish for lunch in the east and we were brought to Big Fish at Siglap. It was a quiet afternoon and there wasn't much customers around so the first impression of this place wasn't that great. I placed an order for a snapper dish and the others had fish & chips and also the seafood platter. Every dish that came out from the kitchen was created with passion, the taste was great and the seafood were fresh. I was caught by pleasant surprise that I would actually fall in love with fish all over again! continue reading

Caesar Salad ($11+)A large serving of Romaine lettuce with soy turkey bacon bits.Big Fish Harvest ($29)” Combi of char-grilled Cod and Salmon, approx 100g each, served with Garlic butter Queen scallops on bed of watercress and lemon butter sauce”.( as described)The cod … looks awful and the portion was small than my palm. The salmon fillet & scallops were tad overdone… rough texture.I like the watercress & lemon butter sauce which was the only saving grace.I was a little disappointed with the drop of standard … perhaps they have a change of chef? Neverthless, I ” MAY” still return but… only for the butterfish.P.S No GST charge but 10% Svc charge still included. continue reading
