Carl's Junior burgers are not for the faint heart. In fact, the portions are so large, i often have to share the burger or give half of it away!Anyway, it was a rainy day outside and we decided to drop by Carl's Junior to have lunch. Anyway, it was a rainy day outside and we decided to drop by Carl's Junior to have lunch.

My friend ordered the superstar with cheese, which was their version of a cheeseburger. It had 2 slices of juicy beef patty with tomatoes, pickles and the usual fare. It was massive but he managed to finish the burger whole with room to spare for the fries!

I ordered the Charboiled Santa Fe chicken burger, which was a grilled chicken burger with delicious melted cheese! I really liked the sauce which i found special and the chicken was nice and juicy! However, as expected, i didn't manage to finish the burger.

Overall, a very filling meal. I like how we get a free flow of drinks too!

I used to love Carl's Junior because the 1st branch I went to was the East Coast branch. Plaza Sing's very open concept is not appealing to me, being at the entrance of MRT & opp a stretch of food kiosks, there's always so many ppl (esp dinner time) passing by, queueing & squeezing that you can't focus on enjoying your food or chatting with good frens. Food & service cleanliness is ok, but just ok. Would only go when other frens have the craving for Carl's burger...

Though a fan of beef, I like the char-boiled chicken burger on their menu best. Well-marinated pure chicken breast, cooked by half boiled and half char grilled. It has its distinctive house taste which lingers even when you're done with your meal. I've to say, I've this habit to grab lots of salsa from the self-help condiments booth and spam it on my burger before every bite I take. It adds to the 'oomph', I'm greedy.

I also like the popular chili beef cheese fries. Chili- I like my spice on food. Beef- now that's something related to beef. And Cheeese- who doesn't love cheese? Of course it doesn't take a genius to know these 4 items of chili, beef, cheese and fries are absolutely a very very bad(unhealthy) combination. Sinfully sinful, but I still take enjoyment to every moment I sink my teeth into them.

Carls Jr would always be my most preferred American fast food.

$14.30 for a burger combo (inclusive of a small fries and a small-sized watered down drink).Seriously guys? Since when has it become normal for a fast food outlet to charge the same price as a restaurant? Walk further down to Kai Sushi and Grill and you'll find steaks that go for a similar price with a less rowdy, more enclosed ambiance and service! Seriously guys? Since when has it become normal for a fast food outlet to charge the same price as a restaurant? Walk further down to Kai Sushi and Grill and you'll find steaks that go for a similar price with a less rowdy, more enclosed ambiance and service! Not exactly top-notch, but that's a restaurant/cafe for you, and Carl's JR is still a fast food outlet, and no matter how you say your burgers match up to that of an actual restaurant/cafe, there is still no justification for you to charge as such.

So why did I pay for it despite being so turned off by the price? Well, my whole gang is there (who are easy-going when it comes to food), and I wanted to see how magical this burger really was. Granted, the burger I ordered was interesting - The Guacamole Bacon Thickburger® (Guacamole! With Charbroiled 100% Angus Beef Patty, Two Strips of Bacon, Two Slices of Melted Pepperjack Cheese, Lettuce, Two Slices of Tomato, Red Onions, and Santa Fe Sauce on a Toasted Sesame Seed Bun) and very filling, but nothing so magical.

So if I'm not paying that much for the food or the ambiance or the service, then what is it that i'm paying for? Edison Chen's endorsement?

But really, with Carl's Jr using Edison Chen to endorse their brand during their launch in Singapore and who used Paris Hilton in the states, it reflects on (the lack of) judgment and corporate strategy of their management (and hence the poor pricing).

Not that I have anything against the Hilton or Edison, it is just that their brand (especially the logo) matches Hannah Montana or Justin Bieber way more. If they're wanting to associate their burgers with sexiness, the first step they gotta do, isn't to engage downfallen d-list celebs, but to change their star logo with the smiley face!
