Chang Cheng opened after they had renovated the place and I frequent they often as they have very nice tasting economic rice. I highly recommend the fried pork belly. Its tasty and super sinful, but nowadays I seldom see it, maybe cause I started working and seldom visit them for lunch. They come in either rice or porridge but I'm a rice person. The funny thing abt eating teochew porridge is that it seems like they serve the same quantity of meat when u order 3 or 4 people but the price is very different. What I usually do is jsut order individual shares and we usually end up with bigger serving.Well, couldn't expect much at times. continue reading

Chang Cheng is a trusted brand for mixed vegetable rice, and there are quite a few stalls island wide. I went ahead to order chap chye (mixed vegetable), sweet and sour fish and fried prawn paste chicken. All the 3 dishes were nicely cooked. My favourite gotta be the fried prawn paste chicken and the sweet and sour fish. The only complaint gotta be they gave too much rice. And, if you are not a big eater like me then it's better for you to tell them to give less rice to avoid wastage of food. continue reading
