With a nice soup base, it makes this bowl of ban mian a tasty one. On top of that, deep fried egg. Slices are added to enhance the taste which is not seen from other ban mian stall. The ban mian is slightly different from other stall as the ban mian from this stall has a slightly thinner width. Apart from the noodle, other ingredients such as the sliced cabbage and meat chunks is also added. Sliced spring onion and ikan bilis is added as garnish to improve the taste and flavour. Price wise is quite reasonable at $2.50/$3 onwards. Apart from ban mian, this stall also sells a variety of noodles which includes fish soup beehoon and others. continue reading

Sometimes you don't need to go to high-end restaurants for delicious food... more so for a budget eater like me who loves cheap but rewarding food. This Fish Soup ($5) is really satisfying for a rainy day like yesterday. The broth is really hot, not really thick but it is savoury and tasty. I can taste the milky texture and also a bit of meaty taste in it. I think the ingredients are not really generous enough for two people to share but enough for just one. There was this fried fish skin (that's how it tastes like, not sure if it really is) inside that is quite interesting. The fish slices were a little hard though, feels like it was just recently defrosted and thrown in to heat up. Could do better but pretty good for $5 a meal. Wouldn't really recommend it though for a fish soup hunter, but if you are here and want to try it out/ feels like having fish soup ... it's not too bad. The cleaning service at this hawker centre is satisfactory, they clean the tables with quite a bit of attention and ensure that it is clean for usage rather than just going through the duties. continue reading

FoodI love Yee Mee. This is the second time I had similar dish from this stall, the first round I was kind of disappointed as the Yee Mee isn't fully cook. This time round I manage to get them to cook longer for the mee so that at least I wont feel that I am eating the raw mee. The soup was kinda hot and I have got my tongue scalded! I had the best of both worlds - the slice fish and fried fish in soup. Yeah. Of course, these are a great combination when comes to fish soup! I had chosen to ta bao since I'm rushing home to catch the last episode of my show. Love the fried egg white that comes in the dish. If only they can give more of it, the whole meal will be perfect!ServiceService is generally ok and quick.AmbienceNoisy Friday night in the hawker center!PriceI wont be surprised by the price it charged me as I had other 2 kinds of fish.Recommendations / TipsThere are a lot of varieties stated on the board. Perhaps you can try others. If you like fish soup I recommend that you take the double fish. continue reading
