You can see the big chunks of fried pork lards in my picture. If you are a big fan of these fried pork lards then you should give this stall a try! They fried the yellow noodle and thick bee hoon in savory prawn stock to give it a moist texture. They served it with their killer chilli! The level of spiciness is very intense and not for the faint hearted ones. I enjoyed it and i will be back. continue reading

What caught our attention was the crispy lard bits serve with the hokkien mee. Yes, it's a "must have" unhealthy food in this kinda places. lolz...I always love fried hokkien mee with thin rice vermicelli added. Why? Most of the hokkien mee uses either yellow noodle with thick rice vermicelli or yellow noodle with thin rice vermicelli. A combination with the 3 is the best as thick rice vermicelli gives u the Q texture whicle the thin rice vermicelli soaks the seafood broth and gives u a flavorful wonder! Simply Fantastic! Hmm... reminds me of the fried hokkien mee where my mum used to fried. Yeah, equally unhealthy with plentiful of lard bits. continue reading

There are two quite famous hokkien mee stalls here but I chose this stall since it was the first stall that I sighted from afar. The noodles are a mixture of the yellow noodle, white beehoon and the white vermicelli. All three when eaten together gives a very different unique texture to the hokkien mee. Taste wise I really loved how flavourful the noodles are. It is more towards the dry version so it is hard to slurp up, but still this dry version suits me fine as well. The prawns are also very fresh. You can also request for lard to be added to your noodles if you are not particular about the calories! continue reading
