We have been engaging Chilliapi for our Corporate Caterings. Good range of food selection and taste aside, for me it is knowing that the team in Chilliapi will deliver my events successfully. Special shout-out to Ani who arranges great selection and  to delivery crew Cao Gang, who stepped up his role to ensure timely delivery of food. Kudos to the wonderful Teams behind Chilliapi!  My experience with Cao Gang has been exceptional. A wonderful treat by my company during the chinese new year. The food served was really delicious and love the neat and presentable presentation prepare b6 this company. Love the satay chicken which is chewy and not too hard and is very fragrant too. The fried noodles howver was abit soggy and the prawns are not fresh. Lime juice was refreshing and not too sweet. I attended an event on 23 Nov and the organizer had catered refreshment from Chilli Api. The food display impressed me with the 2-coloured tone table skipping ie black and red which matched the venue background.It was a simple refreshment with noodle with fried stripped egg, chicken wing, carrot cake with yam filling, egg tarts, water kueh with yam and éclair. I enjoyed the noodle as I could see the food that I was eating. The carrot cake with yam was also good as it was not oily. The egg tarts was rich with egg filling. It was as good as the Marcau egg tarts. The water kuey with yam was exceptionally different as it had filling with yam and mushroom. The éclair was also chilling and not melting. I attended an event and the host served guests with Canepes. The food is unique. I had smoked duck, cheese sandwich, chicken sandwich, muchi (black seasame and peanut), soft cake and egg tarts. The canepes are delicious, especially the salmond pie It is filled with salmond. The unpleasant one is the peanut muchi as it was hard and dry. Of course, the lime juice is refreshing. Today office has ordered in Peranakan Feast buffet ($20/ pax) for lunch.Hee Peow Soup 鱼鳔汤Somehow it is not what I am expecting as it is filled with a lot of fishballs and cabbage. I am expecting a thick soup with very soft slices of fish maw, usually served in Chinese restaurants.There is also a Nonya Cold Dish (chicken ngoh hiang, top shell w chinchalok, nonya archar, mini otak & samosa goreng) 娘惹冷盘. The ngoh hiang is lacking of crunchiness which usually come from water chestnut.Signature Nonya Laksa 娘惹拉沙Quite tasty.Bua Kuluak Fried Rice 黑果炒饭First time having this, which has a unique taste.Signature Ayam Bua Kuluak 焖黑果鸡The must eat item in this dish is the nut. The filling in nuts come from the nut, which is mashed and put back in. It has a salty and woody taste.Signature Itek Sio 酸甜鸭I could not taste that it is duck, so tender.Udang Sambal Petai 参巴臭豆虾The prawns are big and juicy. This was the first time our office was ordering halal lunch buffet from Chilli Api. Lunch was scheduled at noon but shortly after 11am the caterer had arrived with the food and proceeded to set up the buffet line. Cheerful, professional and speedy service! Food was ordered from the local/Malay menu and their CNY menu. Their signature red kebaya motif table skirting brightened up our spartan conference room immediately. My favourite items were the kueh pie tee, raw fish salad (yusheng), prawn roll (ngoh hiang), chicken curry, herbal chicken, sauteed tiger prawns (big ones!), sautéed vegetables with ginkgo & macadamia nuts and the sweet longan soup. We had an extended family gathering to celebrate grandpa's bday that day, catering food from Chili Api, well-known for their peranakan food. The tables were beautifully decorated with batik cloth. There was a variety of food from beef rendang to petai prawns, fish, satay and mee siam (didn't manage to snap a picture before we begun eating). We had cheng teng for dessert and it was really cooling and refreshing after all the spicyness. Everything was great but we were a little disappointed by the mee siam. We celebrated bosses day at office for our boss! Ordered from this traditional peranakan halal caterer. Ordered their nyonya cuisine mini buffet as this is the only option suitable for our small number of pax. Good for 10-12pax @S$198.00. I'm quite surprised with their service as they deliver the food in warmer bag! most of other caterers only bring the food in carton boxes. This is the first time i saw a warmer bag. Good service indeed!Nyonya fried rice is quite fragrant and not soggy. It was the first to be finished! :) I like the nyonya chap chye with black mushroom as the gravvy is quite tasty and not to salty. Prawns cooked with tomato is ok. Prawns are fresh and crunchy. Chicken rendang is acceptable. Chicken meat cooked just nice but taste wise not as strong as i wish to. BBQ Sotong with homemade sambal is quite fresh too!My favourite would be the : D.I.Y Kueh Pai Ti with Condiments! Chilli Api is a caterer that specializes in nonya and malay food. I was surprise when i came across their website at first because i didn't even think such a caterer existed.I ordered from them for a small-scale company party. Some of the things i ordered were laksa, kuih pie tee, mee siam, chendol, croissants with salmon, assorted dim sum trio, chicken shepherd's pie and golden yam nest.Let me start off with this. Because it was a company party, it would only have been professional for them to deliver the food on time, or at most, no longer than 10 minutes later. But instead, the guy came about 45 mins late, and he was sweating like crazy as he was displaying the food on the table. I was extremely unappetizing and disgusting.Seeing him struggle with tray after tray of food was also very disturbing. He was taking on the role of the driver and delivery man. So his job was indeed very difficult due to the fact that he had to park his van and carry one tray at a time to the office. Thankfully, the food saved them. The food was very good. Everything tasted as though there was heart and soul put into preparation and cooking. But keep in mind that the stuff they have are rather pricey to me.So unless you have high tolerance for bad service and high prices, don't ever use them for events like this.
