I have bought this promotional coupon from Qoo10.sg and had ate with my fellow colleagues. The restaurant is quite cooling but abit squeezy for their layout. I enjoyed their pork belly very much as their are very chewy and juicy, and not too dry as well. Their tiger prawns are also very fresh and crunchy after cooked. LIke the laksa soup here which is not too spicy and full of the nice coconut and chilli fragrant in it as well. One free dessert, which is the strawberry snow ice which I had is very smooth, cooling and refreshing too. At only $15.80 per adult, is cheap! continue reading

this time i went to chuan feng le, i went to upgrade the level of spiciness for their mala soup. the last time i went, i only managed to survive the xiao la (least spicy). now i ordered the zhong la (medium spicy). it was pretty spicy for me. the spiciness not only linger in the mouth and it also lingers in the stomach. the chilli oil practically coats whatever ingredients you put in the soup. and everything turns spicy. if you are a sucker for spicy mala steamboat, you got to try theirs. maybe one day i will go back for the da la(most spicy). until then i need to work on my stomach to train it for spicy food. continue reading

I went with my girlfriends to chuan feng le for their Korean BBQ. It was not exactly Korean BBQ cos the meat was not exactly marinated with the Korean meat marinate. But their BBQ was good enough for me. they really have a lot of selection. I especially ate a lot of their Bacon wrapped Golden Mushroom. It was kind of fun cooking the Bacon Golden Mushroom on the grill as you are worried if the bacon gets over cooked or the mushroom was undercooked. The seafood were also very fresh, I like the marinate prawns, it was sweet and juicy. We all stuffed ourselves full! continue reading

Like many other Chinese steamboat shops, Chuan Feng Le spots a wide variety of steamboat fares including meat (pork/chicken/beef/mutton), seafood (fish/prawns/squids/mussels/clams/crabs), various types of balls and dumplings, fresh vegetables, as well as kelp-like vegetables not typically found in Singapore. There was also a good selection of Chinese cold-appetizers, fried finger foods and desserts.Upon entering the shop, the staff politely asked whether we prefer the standard steamboat or 2-in-1 BBQ/steamboat set up. We opted for the latter and ordered the typical Yuan Yang Pot (which had both mala & herbal chicken soup base). The mala soup base was average as it somehow lacked the fragrance of the mala spices. The ingredients were quite fresh and well maintained (there were minimal spillages), which was a plus point. Do note that you could also order premium pork/beef slices (not on display) directly from the staffA few must try included: marinated fish slices (which were fresh and flavourful), special handmade meat balls (which were springy and chewy), BBQ premium pork and beef slices (high quality meat), and BBQ enoki mushrooms with bacon wrap.Overall, this was one of the better Chinese steamboat shops we’ve tried. At a steal of only $15 per pax (deal vouchers), this was definitely a steamy steamboat affair! continue reading
