The chwee kueh tasted rather average. Their chilli is very spicy and chilli lovers will love it because it goes well with the plain-flavoured kuehs. The preserved radish bits on top were plentiful but I couldn't finish them as they were too salty unfortunately. It will be great if they were less salty as I find it such a waste to throw them away since the radish bits are one of the highlight of this dish. The saltiness of it has spoilt the whole dish These chwee kuehs are going at 6 for $1.80. Cheap thrills! Since there's no 2.5 rating, i'll give it a 2/5. continue reading

Chwee Kuah are simply steamed rice cakes topped with preserved radish, they're indeed made from low-cost ingredients however it's the standard of one that keep us from going back to the stall. Usually just a mere dollar for 4 pieces of chwee kuah. Chwee Kuah at Bukit Timah Market Hawker Center serves soft yet not too mushy ones, it also has its rice fragrant and retains the natural rice sweetness. I like the fact that unlike some stalls, Chwee Kuah doesn't pour a load of sesame oil on top. Glad that the preserved radish wasn't too salty either but it did its part of adding flavor to the plain rice cakes. Chili was ordinary. continue reading
