There was always a queue during lunch hour for this famous Laksa. So what can I say? A smell of shrimp paste and chilli once the Laksa was served in front of me, it was wonderful indeed. It was very common to add a spoonful sambal chilli at the top of the bowl. The soup was awesome and it deserved to have a rating at 8 out of 10. The generous serving with both thick meehoon and ingredients, it was outstanding. continue reading

This is another stall we love to have my Laksa for breakfast. Fragrant gravy with silky smooth thick bee hoon, fresh yummy cockles (mmmmm). My wife always torn between having her favourite mince meat noodles or laksa Hahaha... so end up she will order noodles and I will generously give her a spoonful of laksa to ease her craving Long queue as always even though we came early but no worries, stall uncle is fast and organised. Satisfied with meal and left with round belly. The place is often crowded and need to share table with others. continue reading

The laksa gravy of this sauce is great which is extremely important. It uses fresh coconut milk and the laksa leaves make it really fragrant. The spiciness is alright and the serving given is rather acceptable too. I love the tau pok as they totally absorbed the gravy and are soft. $2.50 for a bowl of delicious laksa is rather reasonable too. continue reading

This stall is quite famous for its breakfast. It serves laksa, mee siam, mee rubus and lontong. I was craving for Mee Siam and decided to give it a try. I was a little disappointed by it. The mee siam gravy is not as good as those prepared by the Malay stalls. The level our sourness was sufficient for the gravy but lacked the punch. The taste of the gravy was not brought out. The noodles were well fried and you could see the ingredients include fried beancurd and egg. This is a filling breakfast but not that fantastic. I would say the mee rubus taste better. continue reading

Mee Rubus is one of my favourite Malay dishes. I decided to give this Chinese stall a try as the queue was quite long. From the picture, you can see the gravy as the viscousness that is similar to the traditional Malay style of cooking. It is not spicy and leaves a taste of sweet and saltiness in your mouth. There is fried tau kwa, egg and bean sprouts. I think the Mee Rebus at $2.50 was a good breakfast for me.The stall also sells laksa and mee siam. continue reading
