Bak Chor Mee - one of my favourite brekkie food! I used to patronise the fishball noodle stall at the coffeeshop directly opposite to this one. But the standards for that stall seemed to have dropped (or my taste preferences changed? ). So, I decided to return to this stall and see if it's acceptable. Surprisingly, it tasted pretty good to me. My mum swore by this stall all along, but she was surprised that this time round, there was Bak Chor in the Fishball Noodles. Haha! Here's some information to this:Fishball Noodles - Fishball + Fishcake; no Bak ChorBak Chor Mee - Fishball + Bak Chor + Pork Ball; no FishcakeSo, guess what we ordered? Bak Chor Mee! WE LOVE PORK!!! (Chant: PORK, PORK, PORK....) Back to this review. I liked the meepok texture (same as the one opposite), in that they used thin meepok. Somehow, I always felt that thin meepok retains taste of the sauces better than the thicker ones. It was not overly spicy (after I have requested so), and the overall taste would be that of a sambal chilli taste. I do prefer those with a chilli oil taste, like the one opposite, but since that was getting disappointing, I might just patronise this stall regularly in the near future for my Bak Chor Mee fix. In addition, you can order at this stall, then sit at your table and wait for the food to be served to you. I really appreciate such service. Those "Self-Service" signs really put me off! continue reading
