I have not had char kway teow cooked outside for quite a long time, so I decided to order a plate. I did not mind my char kway teow fried without prawns so I chose to order $2.50 instead of $3. However, the aunty forgot my order and fried a $3 portion for me. So, I had two prawns and more noodles. But still the portion of noodles was not that much. The noodles was quite wet and a little oily. There was a sufficient amount of cockles for me to chew on and the prawns were reasonable fresh. I picked out a few pieces of fried lard which were in quite large pieces. Although they were crispy, it was too fattening to eat them. I don't think I will eat char kway teow outside for a long time from now, because I still think the home-cooked one that my mum fries is much more delicious and healthy! continue reading
