After shopping a day in the Far East Plaza, my girlfriend decided to have her best toast in this food kiosk on Sunday afternoon 4.30 p.m.I liked the Freshly Baked Toast and Kopi. It's been a year since my last visit to Ya Kun at Far East Plaza. I actually wanted to try their Curry Chicken with lots and lots of potatoes, but my stomach was very fulled because I had an heavy lunch this afternoon. Therefore, I have to eat some portion of Laksa with Egg.My comment on this visit at 早安南洋 is excellent

My comment on this visit at 早安南洋 is excellent food, great ambience, nice meeting place for coffee, snack and chat with friends.

I have always wanted to try their toast and kopi at Good Morning Nanyang Cafe but their outlets are pretty inconvenient for me. They recently opened an outlet at Far East Plaza and I grab the opportunity to have breakfast here before my morning appointment at Orchard! The seating space is quite limited but I was there early and so there were quite a few empty seats. I heard it's super packed during the peak period! There were many recommendations on their Orange-Peel Ciabatta toast, which is the first I see in Singapore, and I ordered that along with a cup of Kopi! I love the balance of coffee aroma and sweetness which was just right! The ciabatta toast is very crispy and I was highly satisfied with breakfast!

Look at the generous spread of kaya, butter and orange-peel! Simply irresistible!

Share with all the prices Kopi $1.40, Kopi-O $1.30, Teh Bing $1.80 and teh c is $1.50. 2 slices of toast bread will cost you $1.90 with the standard kaya and butter. Nice cosy place just like YaKun at B1, in fact the big mirrors on the wall gives the place an illusion of being very big. i must say the coffee and teh c standard is not as good as YaKun though. But the toast bread is comparable. Way of ordering is pay at the counter, collect a queue number and wait to be served.

Kaya Toast - Quite normal. Not as crunchy as the ones that I had in Ya Kun.

Headed to Good Morning Nanyang Cafe after lunch with my colleagues. Like the decor there as they went for a 1970s / 1980s kind of feel, with the wooden stools and the marble top round table.Heard about their famous kopi and how strong, fragrant and smooth with a nice bitter after-taste, so decided to try. The kopi came in those old style coffee cup with saucer, which adds to the nostalgic feel, but sad to say the taste didn't live up to the hype. Not really smooth and not as strong as well. Sad

Walked past this and saw a line so joined them in queuing. Many people were walking out with coffee and toasts so I decided to NOT follow them but instead ordered kaya toast and ice milk tea. The toast was satisfying crispy despite the long queues!! The kaya was quite nice tasting and the coconut taste is certainly rather strong yet not overpowering. The milk tea is pretty solid but I still prefer my HK style milk tea.
