I enjoy having curry. I love everything with curry and that made me a big fan of Hainanese Curry Rice. This stall seemed to be the only curry rice stall in Ang Mo Kio. Some of my favourite dishes here are the braised cabbage, braised pork belly and the fried chicken cutlet. I do like their curry chicken too. I always asked for extra curry gravy to go with my plain rice. Among all of their dishes, i like braised pork belly the best. continue reading

If you are those types who do not really bother about calories and eat all kinds of 'fattening foods' just like me, this braised pork belly here is a must try food for you. This version here is cooked in several hours in the fragrant dark soya sauce as well as with alot of nice chinese spicies and herbs in it. The taste is slight sweet, with lots of nice aroma from the spicies. The pork belly is very tender and juicy, and if you those who are not scare of eating the pork fat, these pork fat here is very delicious. Eat with a plate of plain rice is heavenly yummy! continue reading

i love curry gravy. whenever i eat mixed vegetable rice, i will ask them to add curry gravy to my rice. my friends know my love for gravy so when we were at ang mo kio, they brought me to this stall to try their curry rice. i ordered their pork chop curry rice set. it was so cheap, only $2.80. the pork chop was tender and juicy. the curry gravy was very thick. the rice portion was quite a lot as well. it was totally worth my money! those with bigger appetite can order two set since it is so cheap and delicious! continue reading

I love curry and i love hainanese curry rice in particular. And this stall is my new found hainanese curry rice stall just a stone's throw from where i stay. I can foresee myself becoming a regular to this stall. There are different sets like Curry Chicken Set ($2.50), Pork Chop Set ($2.80), Braised Meat Set ($2.80) for your selection. I did not choose any of the sets but ordered pork chop, braised meat and braised cabbage, a total of 2 meats and 1 vegetable for $3.30. A generous portion of thick and groovy curry sauce and braised sauce poured over the rice. When you mixed both together, it tasted amazingly good. A bowl of hot cabbage soup was given together with this plate of curry sauce. The braised pork belly was well-braised, the fatter part was soft and the leaner was tender, good though not outstanding. The fried pork chop was well-marinated and fried perfectly, it will be nicer if they cut it into bigger pieces. The braised cabbage was soft but not overcooked, it complemented the curry sauce really well. Cabbage is a must order for me whenever i am having hainanese curry rice. If you are craving for nice hainanese curry rice but did not want to travel to Jalan Besar or Tiong Bahru then this stall is a good enough alternative. Strongly recommended. continue reading
