Highlander coffee has been around since 2006. Many said that this place serves the best coffee in Singapore. In my opinion, I could not agree more about it.Food selections here is quite limited as the place is more devoted to serving real good coffee. But who cares when you can enjoy a great cuppa coffee right haha There are ready-made sandwiches, pastries, cakes and cookies to go along but are nothing exceptional unlike the coffee. Again, it does not really bother me.Pay this place a visit definitely to get your caffeine fix! But another downside of the place would be the limited seats inside as the cafe is actually pretty small. Maybe a takeaway would be better during the weekends. continue reading

Highlander Coffee at Kampong Bahru Road is really getting more busy nowadays. Mrupupup visited Highlander Coffee and the place was packed with many people. Mrupupup thinks the Singapore drinking culture has picked up strongly. Well, Mrupupup had a Tiramisu Coffee which was very nice and the coffee was served with a pretty self-made leaf motif on the drink (Got photo). Mrupupup likes the Tiramisu coffee with a touch of tiramisu sweetness on the drink. Highlander Coffee conducts their coffee appreciation workshop on their premises, serves many types of coffee (example hazelnut, almond flavours)and sandwiches/cakes/pastries. continue reading

Oh where do I start? She looks exotic with her bronzed skin, with a breathtaking scent of fragrance that lingers seductively. I did not mean to start it, but emotions were out of control by then, and our affair has continued down the years.i am talking about coffee by the way. Highlander sells beautifully roasted single origins and wonderful self-concocted blends which they roast themselves in small batches to ensure freshness. Their very well-trained baristi ensure that every cup of coffee which arrives in the customer's hands are of a high standard. Really, really really exceptional coffee there. (as compared to some big chains)They have a rather no-frills approach to coffee, so do not expect comfortable sofas or funky lighting. But for coffee-lovers, this is the best place to go to and get immersed in coffee and coffee talk! What is even better is that they serve good quality coffee at very affordable prices (cheaper than the big chains). The only gripe I have is the place can be missed rather easily. Fortunately the Highlander website has very detailed directions on how to get there.WOA: Have a go at their cappuccinos and taste the difference. Microfoam!!! And for the aficionados, they organise courses on barista training and coffee appreciation workshops. Hurrah! continue reading

Macadamia latte @$5.50While they are preparing, Beside the aromatic coffee, you can also smell traces of macadamia. The latte was very smooth, with just the right amount of sugar. Unlike other coffee that tried to hide the bitterness or sourness with more sugar. It was served lukewarm, not too hot and just nice for drinking immediately.Although I am no coffee connoisseur, but I believe the latte I just had is good enough to impress a number of coffee lovers.  continue reading
